Hey there
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:03:32
well, let's roll through...i am extremely tired so this may be a bit basic :)

<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:04:07
we had "send out the call for f45 test days" on the to-do list, I don't think we to-did it ?
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:06:11
let's put it back on then
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:06:46
!info "someone to [send out the F45 call for test days](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/tickets/issues/908)" - this wasn't done, let's try again

!topic Flock and Devconf retrospective
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:08:22
jgroman and I were both there, so were kparal and lruzicka...I saw Hristo Marinov , he is doing some testing of image mode images...
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:09:39
there was a session about the "move all tests to dist-git PRs" idea that gave us a good list of things to improve in the fedora CI bits (mainly for me and Cristian Le to work on)
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:09:45
Not sure if this is a Fedora QA thing or a "just Adam" thing, but you said you were working on a new system for tracking critpath packages?
<@derekenz:fedora.im>
15:09:45
Wish I could've made Flock at least
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:10:04
gotmax23 indeed. I didn't figure out where to upload it yet, but here lemme pastebin it for you
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:10:24
gotmax23 https://paste.centos.org/view/e6aea08f
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:10:44
i'll *probably* wind up putting it in releng scripts with the critpath script and wiring them together with bodhi somehow...something along those lines
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:11:02
Ack. It turns out I at some point opened https://forge.fedoraproject.org/packaging/orphansv2/issues/13 if you have more ideas there
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:11:36
the main idea was to use it for rmdepcheck gating - we'd gate rawhide updates if they break deps of anything in the compose-critical path. but it's useful for all sorts of other purposes of course
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:11:52
we could use it for orphans, and also for comps...
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:12:57
One other thing about the critpath stuff that I never knew who to complain to about is that @critpath-build stuff is gated for 14 days
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:13:09
That requirement doesn't really make sense for macros packages like it does for other critpath stuff
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:13:30
yes, critpath is a bit of an awkward concept
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:14:14
we may wind up sorta splitting the 'critical path' concept in bodhi, i've been trying to avoid it as it's a pain but it may wind up being necessary
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:14:36
i need to think about it more when i have had a lot more sleep
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:14:42
:)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:14:55
was good to see you at flock btw!
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:15:08
and thanks as always for all the stuff you're doing, it's awesome
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:15:17
you too!
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:15:56
btw i should be clearer: the person to complain to about critpath-build being gated for 14 days is me cos i created it :P but i agree it's a bit annoying and *want* to fix it...just need a good design
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:16:44
yeah. but anything is probably better than rawhide being perpetually broken
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:17:05
which gating prevents
<@gotmax23:fedora.im>
15:17:14
... sometimes :)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:17:38
yeah, basically critpath-build exists to get the automated test gating and the critpath time/karma requirements are just an unfortunate side-effect
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:18:00
hi kamil
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:18:04
any notes from flock/devconf?
<@kparal:matrix.org>
15:18:49
only sick notes
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:19:15
other things...I got a lot of ideas and plans, I'm in the middle of wiring up openQA tests of dist-git PRs on demand, i'd like to look at accessibility testing in openQA again...
<@kparal:matrix.org>
15:19:21
I'm happy that Packit bodhi updates should soon start CCing maintainers
<@kparal:matrix.org>
15:19:34
if that works according to the plan
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:19:38
we had a nice chat about Lukáš Růžička's LLM openQA failure analysis bot and he's hopefully got some good ideas to improve it
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:19:50
cristian filed a couple of tickets on it
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:20:04
if i get energy and time i might poke through bodhi code again and give him some ideas/pointers at least
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:20:14
oh, but yeah, just CCing them should be fairly easy
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:20:25
getting fancy with faking the owner of the update and stuff is harder
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:24:03
!info adamwill, kparal, lruzicka, jgroman, gotmax23, hricky and many others attended flock and/or devconf, lruzicka gave a talk on analyzing openQA failures for developers, several of us attended a sesion with lecris about dist-git PR testing which produced a bunch of ideas for improving Fedora CI, we made plans for the openQA failure analysis tool, and got lots of inspiration for future projects. Look out for trip report blog posts / toots / whatever from participants

!topic Fedora 45 status
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:24:48
!info the openssl 4 update has landed, and broken FreeIPA replication tests. these are temporarily being bypassed on Rawhide to avoid gating problems. we're waiting for devs to figure out and fix the problem
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:25:20
!info Rawhide updates were also blocked for a while by failures that seem to be caused by recent haveged builds, this is now resolved by temporarily disabling the use of haveged in the FreeIPA tests
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
15:25:31
anyone got any other notes on current f45 status?
<@derekenz:fedora.im>
15:26:12
The latest build seems fine. No new bugs
<@derekenz:fedora.im>
15:26:26

<@adamwill:fedora.im>
