I thought i weighed in on this already... I'm +1 on offline/online install

im not in the meeting but, being explicit about offline installs doesnt make much sense to me?

but nothing makes sense without an explanation.

All desktop have live isos today, no local / offline install, no net install

We did decide to create a separate repo, but didn't decide, whether the tickets should remain integrated in the ticket repository, or whether we want to have our own separate tickets in the home repository.

I think we should stick with the shared ticket here as well, for now.

I would rather have the homelab tickets with all the others

Shared tickets, we dont have tens of contibutors to share the load amongst.

I think it depeneds on the nature of the ticket, but having them all to gether makes sense at the moment

Yeah, Forgejo has a lot more options to sort and filter the tickets. So it is much easier to keep an overview.

We should finally decide about the goals. The details of our development depend on this. The proposal is in the ticket, until now there are no comments.

I am definately supportive of the goals there

What would "ready to use installation" mean

I'm supportive of the goals as well

It could be construed as everything from loaded containers with eg Immich, or it could be the operating system ready to install applications

It does say in the goal "d common set of applications already installed"

But I think too many increases workload to sustain the project, and could bloat it. Take Games Lab or Scientific Lab, they have not aged wellm and contain so much redundant cruft

So I would like to make the list as small as possible

The focus should be on installation software; we are Server, not CoreOS. And we should maintain both of these priorities.

What would examples of installation software be?

We've started seeing rackable risc-v setups

Good. I Have starte to experiment with Risc-V, with StarFive VisionFive and orange pi RV

I installed my home server on former. for testing

I watch the riscV channel, and I think they still dont have the builders to really make a complete system yet, so it will be some time, not tooo long, until it is ready as a 'home' system

So we had a new person, Rob, who is a professional, tv employed, video editor come to us

This does seem quite premature given where we are with the homelab spin

He wanted a job, but marketting and design were busy, so I suggested, on the weight of his blender made short vid, that he do a promor for us.

It could be a teaser to get contributors.

Either way, we have an industry level professional that wants to work for us

In August there is a conferenc with a Fedora booth in Germany, Bonn. Would be nice, if we could show somethin lioke that on our booth.
