Oh, I would love to. I thought what was there was enough to get started on something. I'm interested in this project because I've already been working on rebuilding my home lab on Fedora, with the express goal of seeing what I'm able to achieve without installing a bunch of third-party tools. I've been able to get really far using only packages in the core Fedora repositories and they tend to be very up-to-date, which is a welcome change from Ubuntu land.

it might be worth talking to folks like Carl George, Davide Cavalca, Jonathan Wright, and SFaulken about how they do server setups and get some feedback about what kinds of things people typically want to do

Why do you want to have a partition type of Linux for an LVM partition?

I originally had it as GPT and so those types didn't exist

switching back to MBR for the Raspberry Pi 3 series hardware (among other things) meant imposing a very restrictive setup for partitioning

we can certainly try to make it LVM type for the partitions, but I am unsure if it'll break something

But it was type LVM before migration to Kiww.

Currently it breaks using some LVM adminisatration tools.

On kvm guest is it partition 4, and on arm image maybe 3? But it is just one partition.

The other thing is the gap. There was some issues with he ARM uboot firmware.

I needed more space at the beginning of the disk.

But if so, shouldn't we create a "reserved partition" of some type instead of leaving a suspicious gap?

It is too risky that someone unaware of the details accidentilly uses this for whatever purpose.

With our DVD wording we make a laughing stock

local or offline seem like the two best candidates

local is unclear

therefore I would err towardds offline

But I still think there could be a better term that captures that all the files are there to install

FYI, I saw cases where people were confusing netinstall with network booting when editing some articles for Fedora Magazine.

I think online and offline are the best understood terms for installers.
