Regarding Flock, I think Emmanuel, Alexander and me are the ones to do the work. And I hope Nirik and Stephan will be present as well.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:11:52
I suppose, for our US-non-red-hat members is may be too much to travel to Europe these days.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:25
OK, lets proceed.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:34
!topic 2. F44 release testing
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:43
Tracking issue: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server/tickets/issues/186
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:59
We had a lot of actions here:
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
3. !action korora: Test the F44 Beta single-disk installation on both UEFI and BIOS, and perform KVM virtualization tests.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
4. !action eseyman: Test PostgreSQL and MariaDB on a fresh installation of F44 Server.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
1. !action mowest: Test the F44 Beta installation on his Dell desktop (either BIOS or UEFI) with two hard drives if possible.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
2. !action pboy: Test the F44 Beta RAID installation (BIOS and/or UEFI dependend on mowest’s hardware capabilities) and also test on an aarch64 SBC.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:11
5. !action: All: While testing, make note of any documentation that needs to be updated.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:21
What is the current status?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:52
I tested BiosBoot single drive default as well as Raid. Everything worked.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:14:24
Pg and MariaDB installed fine. I was able to create databases and users in both
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:15:18
And didn't you test UEFI single drive, too? Or do I remember that falsely?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:15:44
yes, this was a UEFI single drive laptop
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:15
So I will test UEFI RAID after our meeting.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:38
Korora tested the KVM VM and found no problemes.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:55
What about aarch64 SBC?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:17:08
mowest: Are you online?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:18:09
I guess, the aarch64 testing is still left.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:18:37
I can do that later, too. I have 2 currently unused devices here.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:34
Well, nn summary, the tests have been successful so far, but UEFI Raid and aarch64 are still missing.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:21:24
!action pboy will test UDFI RAID installation and aarch64 SBC
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:21:53
So, I think we are done here, arn't we?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:22:05
I think so
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:22:15
!topic 3. Project "Streamlined backup & restore"
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:22:24
Tracking issue: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server/tickets/issues/184
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:23:03
I think, we have here to align our ideas and plannings. In the ticket, there are 3 proposals.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:24:10
I hope that Emmanuel's initial ideas are now also reflected in this.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:25:22
I need to contact the maintainers of timeshift in Fedora. Will do that tomorrow
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:25:58
Yeah, and do you agree with the proposals?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:26:15
And maybe we have a better title / wording for each?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:27:05
Yes, I'm good with the proposals
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:27:26
I hope we have aligned our ideas of "steamlining backup&restore". 😀
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:27:56
OK, any objections?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:11
John?
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:30:56
It seems as though each scenario requires a different solution. My needs for backup/restore are rather minimal. I use rsync for volatile data and ansible playbooks for non-volitile data. So my needs are pretty basic and I don't have much experience with the more sophisticated proposals. So I'm not sure my opinion would be very well informed.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:32:09
Also, I think most database backups/restores require package specific solutions.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:34:28
Ok, but you obiously don't object against one of the projects. And how to manage databases, is a matter of implementation, I think. According to our technical Specs Postgres is what matters. But mysql/mariadb is important for many, too. So we may focus on both of them.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:34:58
No objection
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:35:36
Agreed: The working group agrees with the proposals in Ticket #184.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:36:06

17:37:16
!agreed: The working group agrees with the proposals in Ticket #184.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:40
OK, zodbot is not willing today.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:38:11
We have to agree about who is doing what. Es discussed so far:
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:28
Strenghtening update: Emmanuel & Peter
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:40
Streamling. Emmanuel and Jocelyn
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:39:43
FTR, I'll be concentrating on the backup & restore ansible roles
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:39:52
I filed https://github.com/robertdebock/ansible-role-backup/issues/4 yesterday
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:52
homeserver: mowest and Peter
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:40:02
LocalKDC abbra & ??
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:41:04
Emmanuel Seyman: Yes, That is part of the project "streamlining", isn't it?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:41:32
yes
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:42:14
Well, do we agree upon the pairing of people for the projects?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:42:37
that looks good to me
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:42:37
Emmanuel Seyman: would you join the LocalKDC?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:43:00
Se we have always 2 leads for each projects
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:43:25
I'm actually quite busy at the moment, mostly on Perl-related things and do want to overcommit
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:43:55
OK, same for me, not Perl but e.g. Docs
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:44:18
So, we leave that open at the moment.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:44:33
I mean, the LocalKDC project
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:45:09
mowest: Welcome, you are online, I see.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:45:28
Do you agree with our pairing?
<@mowest:fedora.im>
17:45:57
Yes, just got on
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:45:57
!hi
<@zodbot:fedora.im>

<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:46:25
Hi Jocelyn!
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:46:58
the internet is stable at the moment
<@mowest:fedora.im>
17:47:34
Sorry about four more weeks of hit or miss participation for me because of work obligations.
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:48:22
Re F44 Testing: I have not gotten a chance to do any thing with the Beta, I will hopefully get there this week. My health has led me to be... not very productive
<@mowest:fedora.im>
17:48:50
I like the idea of pairing so that someone can give updates if the other can't be there.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:49:32
So we agree upon: proposal !agreed about projects leads: Strengthening Server updates eseyman & pboy, Streamlining regular Server backups: eseyman & korora, Homeserver spinn-off: pboy & mowest
<@mowest:fedora.im>
17:50:05
+1
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:50:41
+1
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:50:42
All these projects are part of out Flock activities. So they are very important and time restricted,
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:51:42
!agreed: Projects leads: "Strengthening Server updates": eseyman & pboy, "Streamlining regular Server backups": eseyman & korora, "Homeserver spinn-off": pboy & mowest
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:51:45
+1
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:52:05
Well, next topic:
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:52:29
!topic 4. Open Floor
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:52:51
The floor is open
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:53:40
I've not seen any input on templates for ticket types. I am going to look around and other aspects of the project and see what they have and what we can borrow
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:54:16
Yes, "borrow" is always a good idea!
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:54:25
What concerns me somewhat is how we can move forward with our Ansible projects.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:54:40
We have a lot to do the next months.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:55:16
I have no idea about it.
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:56:28
So I wil say that I stopped using ansible to update my machines as I think that was part of what led to my server becoming inop
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:57:06
Well, that is not the goal of Ansible 😀
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:57:16
Tell me about it. LOL
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:57:48
Jocelyn (she/her) (Server WG: Docs): can I convince you to give it one last chance?
<@korora:fedora.im>
17:58:29
Probably.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:58:36
Jocelyn (she/her) (Server WG: Docs): I would also volunteer to help with your ansible issues.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:59:41
Our time is up. Let's close on time today.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:59:59
bye
<@pboy:fedora.im>
