!topic Followups
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:19:04
I'm hoping to have updated kernels today for Hyperscale
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:20:49
In the new year, I'll be refreshing our images with all the stuff coming in from Fedora and EPEL, particularly the KDE images.
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:21:40
I may also port over the Fedora 44 change to eliminate the `/boot` ext4 partition on our cloud images
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:21:51
and move all that to a btrfs subvolume
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:22:14
there's also some questions about whether we should make `/etc` a subvolume too
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:23:09
that's it for me
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:23:17
anyone else have anything to bring up?
<@rcolebaugh:matrix.org>
16:23:52
Nothing here for me
<@rcolebaugh:matrix.org>
16:24:30
Interesting about the btrfs subvolume changes, I'll have to find some background reading on this
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:25:22
there's been some discussion in #btrfs:fedoraproject.org about it
<@rcolebaugh:matrix.org>
16:26:14
Excellent, thanks! 😀 I'll read up on the changes there

<@rcolebaugh:matrix.org>
16:28:15
Wow nice, thank you!!
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:28:49
I'm hoping that we'll be able to discuss this more fully at our meetup at CentOS Connect next month.
<@james:reilly.asia>
16:28:51
the GNOME 49 rebase hasn't had much progress and the epic was made private/deleted https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-124219
<@james:reilly.asia>
16:30:37
but it may just be holiday slowdown/it's not high priority
<@yselkowitz:fedora.im>
16:31:36
Red Hat engineering comes to a grinding halt by mid December
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:32:54
they made it private :(
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:32:58
that's annoying
<@yselkowitz:fedora.im>
16:36:06
I think I see why, I wouldn't read anything into it
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:37:23
semi-related, the COSMIC SIG (alongside yselkowitz) is working on COSMIC for EPEL, so if someone is interested in that, we can add COSMIC as an option for Hyperscale
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:37:42
it's been added to ELN and should be part of daily composes now
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:38:43
well, starting later today I assume
<@james:reilly.asia>
16:39:22
I used greetd from the cosmic-epel copr last week, it came in clutch
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:41:36
there's still a few things that need backporting for cosmic
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:42:00
the selinux policy commit for greetd (so it works in all policy modes) and the preset for cosmic-greeter
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:43:43
anyway, if there's nothing else for followups, then
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>

!topic Miscellaneous
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:49:02
Anything, anyone wants to bring up in open floor?
<@rcolebaugh:matrix.org>
16:49:36
Nothing on my end :)
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:50:22
Nothing from me either
<@james:reilly.asia>
16:52:12
ELN live isos?
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:52:39
Yes, this are a thing now.
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:52:54
There are now live ISOs for KDE, GNOME, and starting from today, COSMIC too
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:53:12
The goal is to ensure the desktops stay working as RHEL is continuously developed.
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:53:28
And to make sure it isn't painful to branch them for EPEL too
<@yselkowitz:fedora.im>
16:55:08
well, starting from tomorrow probably, the pungi-fedora change hasn't been merged yet
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:57:00
ah
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:57:14
I need to get perms on pungi-fedora at some point... :/
<@conan_kudo:matrix.org>
16:57:22
but that's for another time and a place...
<@yselkowitz:fedora.im>
16:57:31
I have perms, no worries
