17:12:22
Fortunately, the SBC bug os resolved.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:32
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2396309
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:56
And arm-image-installer works fine, again.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:13:13
I couldn't test todays rc yet.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:13:17
Ah, that's a good thing
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:14:07
Yes, it saves us to kick ARM out and probably disapppoint many users.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:14:36
What about our special tests, as listed by Emmanuel in the ticket?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:15:04
Unfortunately, i couldn't test dovecot, which is quite a radical change.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
17:15:51
Yeah, I still need to upgrade my server with dovecot here at home. :( Totally new config...
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:23
Yes, and I administer 3 mail hubs (in production) user dovecot.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:16:29
I have done virtually no testing, too busy with other things... :-(
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
17:16:55
I've got a arm box here to test with now. Plan to do some testing later today hopefully
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:17:29
Would be helpful if you could post your findings.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
17:18:17
sure, can do
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:18:19
Well, I don't expect any surprises with our main installation media. Everything worked fine at the various stages / test versions
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:19:33
There are still some blocker bugs open, as far as I counted. Maybe we get tomorrow a no-go again. But nevertheless, I think we are done with our testings.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:02
And it would be fine, if we could get f43 out of the door.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:38
So, let's go on.
<@pboy:fedora.im>

Currently, the changeover of our user docs is not working. You have to append "/latest" to the URL.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:22:48
Docs is working on it.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:23:12
Unfortunately, it is blocked since Friday (or Thursday?)
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:24:22
Any comments / ideas?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:25:29
Will having our documentation on the new forge improve things ?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:26:57
Basically, it is unchanged. But there are some improvements, e.g. the performance is better. And notification should work out of the box (allthough out box is currently still "closed" i.e. no configuration done so far).
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:27:42
And we will get a preview button for Asccidoc, which we were missing with pagure and which was too complicated to use on GitLab.#
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:21
And we separate repos for different things under the same roof. Which makes working with it easier.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:38
And we can adjust the UI to our needs.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:29:07
There is a lot more, I think. I did some work on forge, and I like it a lot.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:30:44
Any comments about the proposal? use https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-server/latest/ to view the current state.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:31:37
I stumbled on this last night : https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server/wg-documentation/pulls/170
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:31:53
which didn't fill me with joy
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:32:33
but, overall, the new forge seems a step up
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:32:33
I think, that's part of our next topic. Great, if we would make progress with the issues.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:33:41
That's the only open PR for us right now
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:34:27
If someone can point me to a document that explains the differences between issues and projects, I would really appreciate it
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:35:31
Well. I searched the docs about that, too. Seems to be kind of a collection of (tracking) issues.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:36:49
I'm going to reasearch this for next week
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:02
But there are also milestones. We have to dig deeper into it,
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:59
Looking forward to your findings. There are a lot more organisational options. We have to find out, how to make the best use of them.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:04
Well, back to the proposal https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server/tickets/issues/168#issuecomment-146737
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:04
Any objections or alternatives?
<@theprogram:fedora.im>
17:39:36
I think it is a good idea
<@theprogram:fedora.im>
17:40:07
It could be a very large section if anybody wanted to write it

<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:48:29
Yes, seems so.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:48:46
Did someone check the source?
<@copperi:fedora.im>
17:49:34
There is only comment, file is missing
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:50:14
Yes, I see. Maybe we have to check on pagure. The complete content is still there.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:50:54
John Himpel: I see your are online ??
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:51:15
I am lurking as I am in and out.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:52:23
OK, Could you or Emmanuel check on pagure, if the content / the change is really in the current file on forge? Or it got lost in the transition process?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:53:20
you can't search a pagure repo via the web interface?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:54:24
No, you can open the issue and you can look at the commit difference. An than you can look at the file on forge and check, if the modification is there.
<@pboy:fedora.im>

<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:58:31
John Himpel: Thanks! So it got lost in the transition.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
17:59:17
Peter Boy (ServerWG, Docs): I was looking at the pagure forge if that helps.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:59:38
Yes, my citation is from pagure.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:00:03
John, can you fix it or are you struggeling with GIT?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:00:36
So it would be too much work, currently?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
18:00:40
I can do it, if need be
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:01:13
Emmanuel Seyman: OK. Thanks.
<@jwhimpel:fedora.im>
18:01:35
John Himpel: I'm struggling still with git. Also under narcotic pain killers, thus not thinking all that clearly all the time.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:01:46
!action Emmanuel Seyman will fix the open PR on forge.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:02:13

<@eseyman:fedora.im>
18:04:22
Do we still have to prepare a story for each Fedora release ?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:04:34
I don't think so.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:05:09
But we should prepare a Release Note entry. Provided, we have something to note.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:05:51
Maybe, there is something about dovecot and how to upgrade without coming into rough waters.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
18:05:55
I was looking at this last night : https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server/tickets/issues/134
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
18:06:06
and was wondering if it is still valid
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:07:21
I currently see noome to mention something. An on Fedora Magazine are only the usual article about what is new to Workstation, etc.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:07:52
So may, we can silently close the issue 😀
<@pboy:fedora.im>
18:09:02
OK, Emmanuel Seyman do you close the issue?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
18:09:22
