The most urgent open topic is our Poll.

We are ready, but it is difficult to get it into the Fedora processing, I'm afraid.

Steve, anything new?

I don't have any updates, I privately messaged JWF (he/him) on Monday, but haven't heard from him, but I don't know if I have seen him active on Matrix the last couple of days. I'm guessing with the release and "All Things Open" conference, there might be other concerns keeping him from being able to connect with me.

My free days to work on Fedora tend to be Monday, Tuesday, and this hour on Wednesday. My weekends are full of obligations.

Regarding Justin, I think that could indeed be the reason.

He wants to meet with me and do a screen share to teach me how to be an admin for the Limesurvey instance that we have for Fedora, but we have not been able to connect yet.

OK, so I think we should wait a week and try again?

But in the meantime we could consider how to inform the Fedora community about the poll. And try to encourage participation.

My idea is, maybe to write a Fedora Magazine article about our current work and the poll. So that our poll attracts attention.

mowest: Do you think, you could write such an article? Or may we work together on it?

I could probably do that, but a 1st draft will probably not come until Monday of next week at the earliest.

I think, that's not a problem. I expect it needs some time to get the poll work.

For the poll I believe the following need to occur: 1. Connect with JWF to learn how to admin a Limesurvey on the Fedora Instance. 2. Pull over our draft from my private account on Limesurvey.org and import it into the Fedora instance. 3. Publish Poll to discussion.fedoraproject.org and same day publish an article in Fedora Magazine about it to encourage users to fill it out.

I have to go, and address a technical issue at work, and then extra obligation after that. Have a great meeting.

I think, we should jump to the Ansible / NFS topic.

This lost some of our attention due to the f41 release, I think.

I have an NFS Server running inside my local network. I have an NFS Client running on sisyphos. They were ansible installed, but I had to "tweak" them by hand. I need to get the tweaks into ansible. I am pretty swamped right now with catching up after being out of town for a while. Hopefully, I can get this all done in the next two weeks.

OK, I guess eseyman hasn't had a chance to test the current status either. And unfortunately, neither have I.

Installation of ansible is another process that needs documentation. The actual rpm installation is simple enough to not require much documentation. But the customizations required to make is locally usable are rather complex. I need to spend some time searching the ansible project website and docs to see what I can link to for use in our docs.

Oh, I see there is a lot to do.

Once again, the importance of manual testing has been demonstrated. At the last minute, I found a bug in the VNC installation. Last time, it was the LVM bug. I think we need to plan and organize this better.

My problem is that I do not have much "spare" hardware to dedicate to testing new releases.

I have a 16G amd server running 6 VM's. I have six small ARM SBC's that are not supported yet by Fedora,, so I run Ubuntu Server on them or I found a Fedora image (created by a user) that can install on a raspberry pi 5, but it's unofficial software.

Oh, that's a lot, but not what we need. I have 4 unused x86 machines including an olded Server (8.Gen Intel) and various SBCs that are supported by Fedora.

And we habe my public Servers, where we could try something using VMs. And one Sever is more or less unused. So we could use it for some testing, as well.

FTR, I have a bunch of SBC which are (for most of them) supported by Fedora

That's good. This felease cycle we didn't test on SBC's at all.

So we should determine, what we need to do by manual testing and then make a plan, how we can realiuze that with available resources.

Well, let's first discuss on mailing list, what exactly we want do. Hopefully, we will come up with some ideas and discuss about it in 2weeks, too.

Qur usual procedure is to catact them and ask, what they are planning. And perhaps agree to retreat.

I would suggest Rob Crittenden and Alexander Bokovoy as potential members. They are very busy with Free-IPA, but deal a lot with server issues. Don't know if they have time or not.

He is involved in the Ansible community. He wrote the Fedora guidelines for packaging Ansible collections

What I would like to discuss, we should try to gain more attention for Server.

I'm working on an article for Fedora Magahine about how to install Fedora on Hetzner root Servers. It would we fine, if we could get more article on Fedora Magazine. If have a lot of ideas but not a lot of time spare :-)

Could someone else come up with an article?

Maybe, howto use Servers IPA capability?

Or another topic, with get usually not wo much attention?
