Yes, E is a good item. We have some work done regarding NFS and Ansible Assisteince (John worked on that).

I would be interested in a (Fedora on VPS and rented hardware), not as a story, but a goal.

What wold be the goals in case of E (file server)?

I think, we dump the idea of a Cockpit module for now, or keep with the existing provisorium. We should concentrate on a working and proper Ansible support.

my NFS servers exports TV Shows, Movies, Music and Audiobooks so that I can get at them from whatever PC I'm on

Not sure if anyone has NFS-mounted homedirs but that sounds like something I'ld like to read about

I share cifs/NFs from my Synology but could do it from another computer

use automount for that. we did it at my last job

@eseyman good idea sharing media. That could also be part of out homelab server / ARM SBC goal and story, that we couldn't finisch for f39/40.

that's an interesting idea. setup NFS server then setup automount for home dirs. it wold take some time to figure it out

Yeah, I think, that's OK in OSS. And of course we honor in other's work.

Robert de Bock has written 200+ roles in Ansible that support Fedora and I've started using these instead of rolling my own

OK, I propose I draft an issue for that, specifying the goals and the current status how we want to achieve that. Then we can start to finetune it and hopefully add results soon :-)

Goals are 1. to support specific VMs for the VPS of different providers, and 2. to get Fedora Server as one of the standard offerings on rented hardware (e.g. Hetzner).

Shortly about the other proposal. Regarding Item a. (VPS), my proposal is not focused on a specific release, but on a long-term task.

and ofcourse others, e.g. OVS (UK)

The latter is basically testing and writing documentation, and nagging the provider :-)
