Hello. 👋
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:01:52
Hey all, how you doing?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:02:01
Nice day of learning?

16:02:49
not bad for me, learned how to install custom PS1 var

lets move to open floor but I'm really curious how .bashrc or Kevin setup looks like

16:04:15
lets move it to open floor but I'm really curious how .bashrc or Kevin setup looks like
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:04:20
Hello
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:04:28
I watched a bunch of configmgmtcamp and fosdem videos. ;)
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:04:37
Finally I made my way to home like two hours back
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:04:41
I use zsh and oh-my-zsh with it. :)
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:05:16
A fellow zsh and oh-my-zsh enjoyer?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:06:38
I would 100% watch a tech talk titled "How I do my computing" by Kevin Fenzi. Please and thank you.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:06:40
okay, let me ask you, do you have something for Init?))
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:07:27
ha, thats a big topic. No, I don't think I have anything for init, other than beta freeze tomorrow... and I do have one item for open floor/later...
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:08:43
For init, I'm still looking at the branching SOP, it's taking too long so I split the attributes update to a separate PR and merged it so the docs (e.g. upcoming beta freeze) should show proper values.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:08:51
We don’t have any blockers as of now for beta freeze, I checked it once, we are good to go
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:09:27
Next section?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:09:39
What is the lacking, restructuring taking time? Any blockers there?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:10:31
No blockers, it's formatting/reformatting/prettifying stuff and I'm currently not at home so doing it on a small laptop on a couch.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:11:17
yeah, sound like not confy env
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:11:22
lets move to next topik
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:11:24
!topic Scheduled actions coming up in the next week.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:11:31

<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:11:56
FTI were filed already, beta freeze tomorrow.
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:12:04
So beta freeze is go? Where did you check for possible blockers?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:12:59
Look at tracker, all the approved changes if they are in, or if someone opens a ticket no rule book in general but this is all I look for
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:13:16
Also good to have a check with QE sometimes in case of blockers
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:15:05
I saw that you assigned yourself to the beta freeze ticket. Will you handle it then?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:16:29
Yes
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:17:06
SOP seems pretty straightforward. At first glance, does it look right to you guys? Anything incorrect or missing?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:17:06
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:17:06
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/infra/release_guide/sop_beta_freeze/
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:18:37
seems right to me. Just adjusting koji/bodhi to require manual updates and compose updates-testing repo from testing
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:19:04
wanted also to ask what are restrictions for us during final freeze. i know that builds shouldn't be marked as stable but what else? can we performe any actions for packages on not pending branches?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:19:57
I can take a look, and fix it on the go tomorrow, and yeah the sop seems right and updated otherwise.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:20:13
you can make changes to packages, but those updates will not go stable without a valid/accepted blocker or freeze exception.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:20:25
until after the freeze.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:20:58
okay, and freeze will last untill we make beta release?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:21:53
until the day after the beta release (or final release for final) is accepted as go.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:22:36
okay, thx for clarification
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:23:04
oh do you see it? its next topic comming
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:23:14
!topic Tickets that need attention.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:23:22
!info This is the time where you can bring up RelEng tickets for discussion, for example if there are blockers, etc.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:23:27
!link https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:24:49
I'm not sure I have anything specific... we might want to look at the least recently touched tickets tho if we don't have any specific ones.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:25:53
about that, i can throw tickets that looks interesting to me and discuss them
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:26:29
https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13201
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:27:09
I'm curious if we can process it, with newly added script that removes tarballs
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:27:20
yeah, I think this is exactly that case
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:27:29
oh nice
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:27:58
it that case, reviews are wecome, but i think its good to use
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:27:59
https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13215
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:28:28
I can try and look at it soonish...
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:29:42
Anton Medvedev: i'll do the reviews too, dont wait for the meeting to ask for reviews, tag us or let u sknow anytime
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:31:10
on forge you can also request review (on pr's anyhow) from a specific person(s)
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:31:15
on forge you can also request review (on pr's anyhow) from a specific person(s) or group(s)
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:31:25
1) where Matt got this interesting stats https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/500#comment-1001924
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:31:25
now qs about that one https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13207:
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:31:25
2) is it just require update configs where we introduce releases or something else as well?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:32:11
just fedora-pungi change I think...
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:32:45
oh nice, its exactly what i did, i was curious if there something more underwater
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:32:58
and it would be nice to land it in rawhide/f44 today... so it's in before freeze.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:33:20
there might be something in the sync script for release candidates?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:34:28
nope, seems not. But there is a line in variants.xml that needs removed.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:34:39
variants-fedora.xml rather
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:34:52
no there is not
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:35:29
feel free to send any concerns to ticket comments, I'll send there PR with removal after meet
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:39:24
okay, we can do some backlog polishing if you don't have anything
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:41:11
btw there will be Fedora 44 Blocker Review Meeting in case you folks want to attend after this one
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:41:52
i didn't check forge chat tbh, did you get response about creating releng user jnsamyak (at DevConf.IN 12-16 Feb)
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:43:00
we probably won't migrate compose-tracker for now because of freeze, but it would be nice to have it after)
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:43:30
oh no I didnt get time to do that, I can take a follow up tomorrow and give you that details
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:43:44
but I think I know a fix for it, wait let me try to do that now
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:44:46
oh, like teoreticall for tmp solution we can use my credentials for user that will create tickets automatically
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:45:07
oh, like theory for tmp solution we can use my credentials for user that will create tickets automatically
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:46:38
I think releng user credentials got updated. Did something you know of happened nirik ?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:46:54
Not able to login in through accoutns.fpo
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:47:04
Not able to login in through accounts.fpo as releng user
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:47:07
I don't recall doing anything there...
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:48:19
nirik: also do we store releng user credentials in ansible-private? i wasn't able to locate anything so i added an entry in our bitwarden vault
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:49:17
I have credentials for it able to login through - accounts.fpo
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:49:43
bitwarden seems fine for that... since it's not directly used in ansible or anything.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:50:21
yeah
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:50:25
note that we also have a releng-bot user that toddlers uses...
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:50:55
ok I need to look I added the rreleng user to forge-releng-owners, so it should be good.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:51:16
hum... what does it need that for?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:51:24
But, the new forge, reports it is disbaled, and we need to contact the adminstrator, I'll check with folks tomorrow.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:51:33
just for info, do we have corporate bitwarden account which stores fedora account credentials?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:51:56
able to migrate compose-tracker, and let releng bot open ticket for fedora-scm-request in later too? right Anton Medvedev
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:52:09
yeah, if you create an account with a redhat.com address it gives you the corp plan...
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:52:15
we do but it mainly is accessible for sysadmin-mainers
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:52:30
it should not need to be owner for that? just a member?
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:53:14
yeah, exactly, it needed for creating a tickets in new `compose-tracker-issues` repo, basically migration of failed composes
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:53:55
we short in time and Kevin wanted to discuss something on openfloor
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:54:08
we can return to that later after meet
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:54:24
Yup, time check. I can host next week. What did you have in mind Kevin?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:54:27
it should not need to be an owner. owners can delete/create new repos. It should not have that priv. ;)
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:54:46
I actually had two things now that I think about it. ;)
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:55:32
1. jnsamyak (at DevConf.IN 12-16 Feb) any problems with adding suprakeen as a releng member? he works on the osbuild stuff and has worked on a lot of the definitions... I see you added Neal already...
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:55:34
it sould be added to the member list of releng space is it?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:55:49
Anton Medvedev: yeah, exactly. just a member.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:57:01
2. https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13223 we only want 'x86_64 aarch64 ppc64le' for noarch_arches on build tags. We should adjust the koji branching script to do this right. (another followup from branching I guess)
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:57:38
yeah +1
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:58:06
he has been working with me also, while branching sometimes telling if there is a requirement that was missing that they need
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:58:08
I can add them or do you want to?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:58:25
either way, just wanted to bring it up.
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:58:52
sold
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:59:21
3. I think this one can be closed: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/12629
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:59:42
we now have new issue about pkgs with 0 commits
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:59:44
is suprakeen the fas id too or is it just matrix one?
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:59:49
so that one seems oudated
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
17:00:15
it's supakeen
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
17:00:29
yeah, sorry. need more coffee
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
17:00:48
and added; you can be the wizard for telling the news to them! :D
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
17:01:01
yeah I am just staring at my bed, after one week I'm home
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
17:01:15
after this I'm going to get a long sleep
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
17:01:31
did the email go out for that one?
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
17:02:02
not sure let me check
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
17:02:22
I think I was looking into it through a script, I can check again once before closing it out, sign it to me, and can put it in backlog
