Looking at issues and docs, we don't have anything marked (or looks like it should be marked) for meeting this week.

I know that's now what it's called, but my mind went blank when thinking of it.

I didn't manage to get a bug in for Rocky, to match the bug opened with Alma. Sorry about that. This past week has been quite busy.

I meant to inform everyone in the alma TSC but I failed to do so (was traveling when carl mentioned it to me). I've just posted there so by the next meeting I should have feedback/thoughts from the alma side.

i don't want to rush this too much, but i will point out that if we are doing the epel 10 part, it would be best to do it sooner rather than later. transition wise, it would need to happen with a minor version, so either with rhel 10.3 in the fall or rhel 10.4 next spring.

I think getting it into 10.3 would be better. That's usually the release that people start ramping up their usage.

considering that, i want to suggest having the vote on the epel 11 part next week (aug 5th), and the epel 10 part the week after that (aug 12th). that will give us enough time to get the process laid out appropriately before 10.3 branching.

seems like a good timeline, and i also lean towards sooner is better than later for 10.

Na, I've had to explain the Z style to several people already. The more 10 get's traction, the more I'll have to explain it.

that was a big part of what lead me to even propose this. we didn't get the private mirror complaints early on, and now we're starting to get them from relatively early adopters (by enterprise standards), and i think it will only get worse from here if we stick to the z style.

there's no perfect alignment given all the constraints

a year ago i really liked the alignment of epel10 branch landing in epel/10 repo, but i'm not sure it's worth the other problems

So, for this, the epel10 branch lands in the epel10s repo ... and we don't see epel10.3 (either branch or repo) until the branching time ... I'm ok with that.

for awareness, fedora podcast interviewed me yesterday about epel in general and the epel 11 proposal specifically. i don't know what their production and release timing looks like, but if you want to check it out i would guess it will be available in the next week or two.

Cool. I'm glad that EPEL was able to get more visibility ... as well as the the Fedora Podcast is still happening.

yeah i think they go through bursts of activity, seeing as the hosts do it as volunteers and are busy
