working now on bumping s390x to z15/z16 for ELN in preparation for RHEL 11

it turns out this was *supposed* to happen for f44 as well, but looks like it didn't

oh so rawhide / eln11 uses the same baseline? that will keep things simpler

well, they were *supposed* to, but looks like that got missed for f44

all fedora (and downstream) infra is compatible with at least z15, which is why we're proceeding with that now

fedora is still using the deprecated libappstream-glib for verifying and compiling appstream data, but the consumers (e.g. discover and gnome software) are all using the new appstream library

still have to work out the details of getting asgen to replace asbuilder

oh... is there any reason we can't validate with the new tooling?

the result would be invalid for composing repodata

everything has to match for us to swap the validator

it's on my todo to work with the asgen developer on finalizing how to do the switch

Sure, but even the whole time you were relying on rawhide gating, that had little relevance on the ELN kernel which is a completely different config

I am not saying that we don't want gating, I definitely do... Just saying your current level of risk is not really increased
