We did a pretty good job of testing, but we need to update our validations for the new programs.

Can someone review our validations and ensure that we are more consistent with the work that Jeremy Cline has done and start making changes there?

We need to make certain that we are in lockstep with Sumantro Mukherjee on the 41 schedule.

One thing that's on my to-do list is work out automated testing for the Azure images and that seems to be a related issue so maybe I can take that on

I'll leave that with no action item for now, but as we get closer to the Beta, I'll start losing some sleep over it. :)

I don't think so. I deployed a new version to keep the images we upload tidy (remove unreleased ones, remove ones past the end-of-life), but it's pretty much "done". I do need to track dustymabe down to see about getting the CoreOS ones up as well.

I can write up a comment for that ticket pointing to all the various changes for the permanent record and then I think we can close it as done.

Well dustymabe has that in his _other_ ticket queue. :)

Just had a discussion yesterday about how big the boot partitions are on the images.

Yeah, I think we should try for a Change to move `/boot` to btrfs subvolume

I would like to see that.

we previously didn't do it because of goofiness with ImageFactory and Anaconda

now that we use kiwi, this should be much more straightforward

it will also let us shrink the images too

it would save some headaches.

since we get rid of 1GB of random fat

that's a lot of space.

that's how big our ext4 boot partitions are, I believe

we also don't have to worry about the grub hiddenmenu stuff that we use on real hardware that doesn't like btrfs boot at the moment

Okay. Do you want to write the CP or would you like someone else to do it? It's definitely what I want as well, so, I am happy to pick it up if you want to focus on other things.

(the grub hiddenmenu feature wants to be able to read and write values on disk for triggering the menu in boot failure cases)
