05:30:51 <tagoh[m]> Hi
05:30:54 <priyam> hi
05:30:57 <juhp[m]> hello
05:32:00 <pwu> hi
05:32:13 <paragan> Hi
05:32:34 <paragan> #chair tagoh[m] priyam juhp[m] pwu
05:32:34 <zodbot> Current chairs: juhp[m] paragan priyam pwu tagoh[m]
05:33:44 <paragan> let's start this meeting
05:33:53 * mfabian
05:34:07 <paragan> welcome to our bi-weekly Fedora i18n meeting
05:34:31 <paragan> #topic Upcoming schedule
05:34:44 <paragan> #info 2022-06-07 Fedora Linux 34 EOL auto closure
05:35:00 <paragan> #info 2022-06-22 Change Checkpoint: Proposal submission deadline (Changes requiring infrastructure changes)
05:35:00 <paragan> #info 2022-06-28 Change Checkpoint: Proposal submission deadline (Changes requiring mass rebuild)
05:35:01 <paragan> #info 2022-06-28 Change Checkpoint: Proposal submission deadline (System Wide Changes)
05:35:37 <paragan> I am going to report Fedora 37 tickets in our i18n pagure project
05:35:52 <juhp[m]> Mass rebuild is due to start 2022-07-20 just for reference
05:36:54 <paragan> if you are planning for any change for Fedora 37, do submit it
05:37:00 <juhp[m]> then branching 2022-08-09
05:38:16 <paragan> thanks
05:38:30 <paragan> I think we can plan 2022-09-06 as Fedora 37 i18n testweek
05:39:05 <paragan> as beta release is scheduled on 2022-09-13
05:39:56 <paragan> anything else to discuss here for upcoming schedule milestones?
05:39:57 <juhp[m]> okay
05:40:45 <juhp[m]> It would be good to talk about Changes now and also in the coming weeks of course
05:41:18 <paragan> anyone planning to submit Change for Fedora 37?
05:42:04 <paragan> keep thinking if you are doing any new development to convert it into Change for F37
05:42:21 <mfabian> I think I want to add ibus-table cangjie5 to the live image, it was a mistake not to do that.
05:42:56 <tagoh[m]> Given that we want to fix License tag in fonts-rpm-macros, we may also need to rebuild all the packages right? just wonder if we should submit Changes for that to mass-rebuild fonts package.
05:43:05 <juhp[m]> I would like to see us extending Noto coverage in F37 for example
05:43:30 <juhp[m]> tagoh: it would be good to have a clear conclusion on that I feel
05:43:42 <tagoh[m]> Right
05:45:13 <juhp[m]> How about asking FPC directly since it affects a lot of packages? Any existing package examples?
05:45:34 <juhp[m]> I was asking pondering if we need a ticket to track that...
05:46:13 <paragan> yes we need FPC ticket
05:46:15 <juhp[m]> s/asking/actually/
05:46:36 <juhp[m]> Is someone going to do it? :)
05:46:53 <paragan> I wanted to but will take sometime
05:47:07 <paragan> probably by tomorrow
05:47:11 <juhp[m]> I personally hope we don't need to add the license tag...
05:47:22 <paragan> I too think same
05:47:40 <juhp[m]> but I can see the argument why too
05:48:12 <juhp[m]> at least for upstream appstream files
05:49:01 <juhp[m]> If we could make a Change around the fonts packaging tool that would be cool
05:51:31 <tagoh[m]> Okay, let me think about it.
05:51:57 <juhp[m]> Thanks
05:52:09 <paragan> lets move to next topic
05:52:26 <juhp[m]> Hopefully FPC can help with the license issue since there isn't consensus yet
05:52:56 <paragan> #topic Issues
05:52:56 <paragan> #info #144: Fedora 34 Bug triaging (prigupta)
05:52:56 <paragan> #link https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/144
05:53:30 <juhp[m]> (Hmm maybe we need license tool too, or there may be some I guess?)
05:53:33 <priyam> 9 bugs remaining as of today
05:54:31 <paragan> thanks to all for your continuous triaging of bugs
05:54:51 <paragan> if no action happens on them then it will be auto-closed
05:54:53 <paragan> thanks
05:55:00 <paragan> anything to discuss here?
05:55:59 <juhp[m]> It would be good to triage the gnome bugs
05:56:50 <juhp[m]> This is the last week
05:57:58 <juhp[m]> Originally we talked about doing a session - we could still do that for those interested if we don't have time to test the remaining bugs individually
05:58:35 <juhp[m]> Most of the bugs left are not in our packages at least
06:01:28 <juhp[m]> Maybe we can set something up this week
06:01:33 <juhp[m]> Shall we move on?
06:01:38 <paragan> Okay
06:01:51 <paragan> #info #157: KDE spin missing ibus IMEs and imsettings (petersen)
06:01:52 <paragan> #link https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/157
06:03:11 <juhp[m]> I guess I am more concerned about the deadkey issues currently in KDE that seem related to ibus
06:03:34 <juhp[m]> fujiwara: have you seen them?
06:04:47 <paragan> Do we have deadkey issue reported in bugzilla?
06:05:06 <mfabian> Yes: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2088656
06:05:57 <juhp[m]> mfabian: any more thoughts on it?
06:06:04 <paragan> mfabian, thanks
06:06:09 * suanand suanand is around
06:06:12 <mfabian> It is a bit hard to reproduce, dead keys usually work with and without ibus but it is possible to get into a situation when ibus is running and dead keys are not working.
06:06:28 <juhp[m]> Should we move that bug to ibus?
06:07:28 <mfabian> See the last two comments by Geraldo Simião, he also thought it started working and then it failed again for him.
06:07:37 <juhp[m]> As for the actual ticket it is supposed to be fixed now - should retest kinoite 36
06:08:02 <mfabian> I am not sure whether this is an ibus bug, but when it stays assigned to KDE SIG nothing will get fixed, I guess ...
06:08:56 <juhp[m]> At least the claim is that removing ibus seems to fix the problem?
06:09:13 <mfabian> I guess the problem would go away if ibus could handle the keyboard layouts in KDE. Currently one has to add Keyboard layouts using the KDE control centre, keyboard layouts added in ibus-setup are ignored.
06:09:31 <mfabian> Yes, removing ibus completely fixes the problem.
06:09:59 <mfabian> It seems to be some interaction between ibus and the keyboard layout setup in the kde control center
06:10:36 <juhp[m]> I am tempted to move it then
06:10:52 <mfabian> Currently, even if ibus is running, dead keys “usually” work but sometimes they don’t.
06:11:25 <juhp[m]> mfabian: have you tested with -8 btw?
06:11:37 <mfabian> I could reliably reproduce the problem like this: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2088656#c3
06:11:55 <mfabian> Not yet tested with -8
06:14:13 <mfabian> I see only ibus-1.5.26-7.fc36 : https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-912bd4be77
06:15:04 <juhp[m]> Sorry I am talking nonsense -7 is the latest
06:15:22 <juhp[m]> okay
06:16:29 <paragan> anything else to discuss here?
06:16:38 <juhp[m]> Latest kinoite has imsettings-systemd
06:17:51 <juhp[m]> So I closed the ticket now
06:18:23 <paragan> Thanks
06:18:29 <paragan> moving to next issue
