15:01:52 <glb> #topic 1/ Last week's stats
15:01:52 <glb> #info Week of May 24: 59.3K pageviews -- trending down, likely because we only had two posts for that week
15:02:22 <glb> #topic 2/ In progress followup
15:02:22 <glb> #info Looking at the 'in progress' column, is there something that's been finished? Anything to follow up on with its author?
15:02:23 <glb> #link Board: https://teams.fedoraproject.org/project/asamalik-fedora-magazine/kanban
15:03:31 <rlengland> #323 writer seems to have gone to ground :-) I don't think the have logged in to Taiga
15:03:31 <glb> @rlengland, I think you've been keeping up with things a bit better than I have. Do you know what is ready or close to ready?
15:03:52 <rlengland> The article may be ready for review
15:04:26 <rlengland> 151 may need to "ping" no movement and they sayd 2-3 weeks to get started
15:04:26 <glb> I saw that. I tried to check their FAS account to see if they had signed the agreement, but I didn't even find their account.
15:05:02 <rlengland> 322 nothing new
15:05:12 <rlengland> no action that I can see
15:05:15 <sub_pop> .hello linkdupont
15:05:16 <zodbot> sub_pop: linkdupont 'Link Dupont' <link@sub-pop.net>
15:05:20 <glb> Yeah, that one is a bit odd in that they never finished #151 and then started #322.
15:05:37 <andi89gi> .hello andilinux
15:05:38 <zodbot> andi89gi: andilinux 'Karsten Andreas Artz' <kartz@gmx.net>
15:05:55 <andi89gi> Hey folks
15:06:04 <rlengland> #316 no action
15:06:10 <glb> I wonder if #323's FAS account is different from the username on discussion.fp.o?
15:06:22 <glb> Hi andi89gi!
15:06:32 <andi89gi> glb Hi glb
15:06:39 <rlengland> I haven't been able to get a response from 323 on Discourse
15:07:45 <glb> It is a sham. It looks like they finished the article, but we cannot publish it if they haven't signed the agreement. =L
15:08:08 <glb> s/sham/shame/
15:08:29 <rlengland> #269 has a hold until they complete the series Looks like you have more or less finished it.
15:09:36 <rlengland> #145 no action since mid April
15:09:58 <glb> If @TheEvilSkeleton is close on another article for the series, perhaps we can go ahead and publish #269?
15:10:01 <rlengland> but not complete, either
15:10:50 <glb> I guess the editors will have to write something if we have run dry on content.
15:12:27 <glb> @jakfrost was supposed to have #283 available in a pinch. Maybe he will still come through for us.
15:13:02 <glb> rlengland, do you have any ideas for a quick article?
15:13:46 <rlengland> Unfortunately no. I'll give it some more thought, though.
15:14:00 <glb> I'm skimming the spec column now.
15:14:27 <andi89gi> glb: May it be possible to publish an article about Pride Month (fedora-pride)
15:14:33 <rlengland> I haven't looked at #320 closely. Is it close?
15:15:59 <glb> andi89gi I'm not familiar with it. What is it?
15:17:01 <rlengland> What is systemd and how to created a service.
15:17:25 <rlengland> I'm a novice at systemd details but it looks skeletonized
15:17:37 <andi89gi> glb: Well, it's a month being aware about LGBT, gender, etc. - we have fedora-pride but we haven't worked much yet. But planning a social hour for this month
15:17:42 <sub_pop> I'd love to see a btrfs basics article.
15:19:00 <glb> andi89gi I'm searching for "fedora pride" on site:fedoraproject.org, but I'm not finding anything. Does the group have some official recognition with the Fedora Project?
15:19:47 <glb> I'm not opposed to an article except that I want to be careful about publishing stuff that is "off topic" for the Magazine.
15:20:23 <andi89gi> We have a Telegram group. I have to ask jwf for more details
15:20:26 <glb> sub_pop I'd like to see more btrfs articles as well. I'm a complete novice myself.
15:21:04 <andi89gi> glb: Going to ask jwf
15:21:11 <andi89gi> can understand you well ;)
15:21:33 <andi89gi> that's the point which may be bit tricky ;)
15:21:59 <glb> andi89gi Thanks, if you can get something official (a web page somewhere) that states the group's recognized status with the Fedora Project, I think that would be the first step.
15:22:33 <sub_pop> There's a few btrfs ones, but they cover specific btrfs topics. Nothing like a "Getting Started with btrfs".
15:23:04 <andi89gi> glb: for sure. Sometimes it needs a bit pushing and things get be done. Thx for your thoughts and steps doing first
15:23:52 <rlengland> #279 may need a push? looks like the author was close to finishing in early May
15:24:04 <glb> There might be some concern about recognizing "political" groups. Not that LGBT is a problem specifically, but it could open the flood gates for other groups and that could get into all sorts of legal problems that are well over my pay grade. I'm just trying to be careful not to get the Fedora Project into trouble that it does not need. Thanks for
15:24:05 <glb> your understanding here.
15:25:05 <sub_pop> Seems like that's more like a topic for the community blog? Featuring different segments of the Fedora community?
15:25:07 <andi89gi> Yep actually it may be discussed as well from Fedora-council
15:25:49 <andi89gi> community blog yep - or on discussion.fedoraproject?
15:27:05 <glb> rlengland I see the systemd article, but I'm not sure about it. It seems like a bit of a repeat of some previously publish content, but it has been a while, so I guess it is OK.
15:27:34 <rlengland> I'll contact them and see what their status is.
15:27:52 <glb> Can you check with the author to see if it is done and, if so, would you be willing to take that one and try to get it published sometime next week?
15:28:02 <rlengland> Yes
15:28:19 <glb> rlengland++ :]
15:28:19 <zodbot> glb: Karma for rlengland changed to 1 (for the current release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
15:28:51 <glb> Hi computerkid, welcome to the meeeting. :]
15:29:01 <computerkid> 👋
15:29:40 <andi89gi> computerkid: hey:)
15:29:41 <glb> We were just talking about how we are desperate for some content for the Magazine. I don't suppose you have any cool ideas?
15:29:55 <computerkid> Oh no! That's not good
15:30:11 * computerkid begins going through the pile of Fedora related ideas he has
15:30:25 <glb> Thanks for the podcast by the way, it looks great. :]
15:30:55 <computerkid> Thank you! I know that Eighth_Doctor is interested in doing a Fedora loves KDE thing, so we could have an article about that
15:30:59 <computerkid> he may have already asked
15:31:20 <Eighth_Doctor> there's a ticket, nothing quite yet :)
15:32:11 <glb> I guess I missed it if he asked. Like I said, we need some content, so if you know where he is and can encourage him to write something for the Magazine, we'd be grateful. :]
15:32:23 <glb> Oh, hi Eighth_Doctor!
15:32:38 <glb> We were just talking about you! :]
15:32:54 <nirik> Eighth_Doctor: do a whois. ;) i still need to setup dns and find out where you want to point it...
15:33:31 <computerkid> Eighth_Doctor, write!
15:33:37 <computerkid> There, encouraged
15:34:02 <glb> computerkid++
15:34:02 <zodbot> glb: Karma for computerkid changed to 7 (for the current release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
15:35:06 <glb> Hi TheEvilSkeleton
15:35:17 <computerkid> I'm feeling that post release nothing. I keep thinking, what are we doing, but we aren't doing anything :Z
15:35:42 <computerkid> We did all the thing during F34
15:36:00 <glb> I'm not really familiar with what is going on in other parts of the project.
15:36:23 <TheEvilSkeleton> <glb "If @TheEvilSkeleton is close on "> Sorry. I got really busy lately because I got a job. I didn't even start the other PowerShell article. Also, I just checked teams.fedoraproject.org, and the website is blank, which is even worse than before
15:36:33 <glb> I kind of assume they are busy fixing new-found bugs for the new F34 release. :]
15:37:17 <glb> TheEvilSkeleton don't let teams.fedoraproject.org problem stop you. We can work around that.
15:37:35 <glb> Your job is certainly more important though. :]
15:37:36 <TheEvilSkeleton> I don't know what's wrong with my Internet. I'm even using the default Firefox profile with extensions disabled but it's still not working. I also tried in Chrome
15:37:50 <TheEvilSkeleton> <glb "Hi TheEvilSkeleton"> Hello
15:38:03 <TheEvilSkeleton> That's good to know :)
15:38:09 <TheEvilSkeleton> What article is #269?
15:38:14 <glb> Thanks for letting us know that we should not anticipate another article for a while.
15:38:37 <computerkid> Okay, here's an idea. We just introduced all the magic pipewire stuff, which lets you do jack tools, with no work. Maybe we could do an article showing off what is possible with stuff like Qjackctl and Carla?
15:38:40 <glb> #269 is your "Install PowerShell on Fedora Linux" article.
15:38:45 <TheEvilSkeleton> Ah
15:39:11 <TheEvilSkeleton> My friend that was working with me is busy as well. We haven't talked much recently so we're both really busy
15:39:11 <glb> computerkid it sounds great. We just need someone to write it. :]
15:39:35 <computerkid> oh yeah :[
15:40:02 <glb> TheEvilSkeleton it is OK. Just ping us when you start the next article. :]
15:40:39 <TheEvilSkeleton> Sure. I hope I'll even start the article lmao
15:40:50 <glb> I'll volunteer to write #196 and publish it late next week. That's about all I can do right now.
15:41:42 <rlengland> glb ++1
15:42:36 <glb> #info glb to write #169
15:42:52 <sub_pop> Dumb question from someone who hasn't written an article in at least a year. Where are all these IDs referencing?
15:43:07 <glb> sub_pop https://teams.fedoraproject.org/project/asamalik-fedora-magazine/kanban
15:43:30 <sub_pop> Thank you.\
15:43:39 <glb> It is the tools that we are using to track article progress. :]
15:44:22 <glb> If you haven't used it before, I may need to assign you rights to edit content.
15:44:34 <rlengland> glb if it matters to the log you mistyped #196
15:45:09 <glb> Thanks rlengland. #196 is what I meant.
15:47:07 <glb> Well, there is nothing in "review" or "to edit", so I'm going to skip those sections this time around.
15:48:07 <glb> For "publishing schedule", I'm just going to tentatively schedule #196 for myself.
15:48:55 <andi89gi> glb: well the new idea I have would be I am part on D&I team and we can publish the Pride Month and write about it
15:50:23 <glb> rlengland thanks for staying on top of things on discussion.fp.o. If you can get the systemd article to publication, great. If not, it isn't a big deal at this point.
15:51:03 <rlengland> I'll keep following things and wracking my brains about what I might write
15:51:53 <glb> andi89gi do you mean you can publish something on the D&I pages or are you asking to publish something on Fedora Magazine?
15:52:19 <andi89gi> glb Fedora Magazine+Community Blog
15:54:10 <glb> andi89gi I'm fine with it, but I want someone more official with the Fedora Project to OK it before we post anything. I just don't have the authority to speak about those topics on behalf of the project.
15:55:41 <glb> So, we are about out of time.
15:55:51 <glb> #topic 6/ Editor of the Week
15:56:00 <glb> any volunteers?
15:56:56 <andi89gi> glb: for riecatnor Marie we have discussed and she's fine and supporting it. ;)
15:57:04 <andi89gi> but I see your point
15:57:19 <andi89gi> glb Editor of the week?
15:57:30 <rlengland> +1
15:58:04 <glb> andi89gi the person who will run this meeting next week and who will monitor discussion.fp.o for new article proposals.
15:58:24 <glb> It looks like I'll be doing it again next week, but that is OK.
15:58:38 <glb> #info glb will be Editor of the Week next week
15:58:48 <andi89gi> glb: Ah ok
15:58:52 <rlengland> andi89gi perhaps propose the article and we can create the card and await approval?
15:58:53 <glb> Thanks for coming everyone. Come again! :]
15:59:09 <glb> #endmeeting
