16:06:48 <frantisekz> .. :( :D
16:07:49 <adamw> welp then
16:07:54 <adamw> #topic Previous meeting follow-up
16:08:29 <adamw> "lruzicka and kparal to continue work on this [core desktop applications] email and related criteria proposal etc"
16:08:35 <adamw> how are we on that, lruzicka ?
16:09:19 <lruzicka> I think that I have not received any replies, afaik
16:10:03 <lruzicka> we have sent the email to KDE and XFCE, so I will probably have to poke them again, whether they want to have a word.
16:10:32 <lruzicka> I believe that it was caused by the holidays getting in the way, but thanks for a reminder
16:10:42 <adamw> yeah, definitely worth sending reminders post-holidays
16:10:54 <adamw> there's also cinnamon and mate that i can think of
16:10:55 <adamw> lxqt
16:11:21 <lruzicka> I know, but kamil wanted to start in an easy way. Of course, I can send it to those SIGs too
16:11:29 <adamw> #info "lruzicka and kparal to continue work on this [core desktop applications] email and related criteria proposal etc" - mail was sent out to KDE and XFCE lists, did not yet receive a reply; lruzicka will send follow-ups
16:11:32 <adamw> ah, makes sense
16:11:58 <adamw> #action lruzicka and kparal to continue trying to get responses to core desktop applications proposal
16:12:00 * nirik doesn't recall seeing anything on the Xfce side, but may have missed it
16:12:15 <adamw> hmmm...yeah, i don't see a mail either
16:12:19 <adamw> perhaps stuck in moderation?
16:12:21 <lruzicka> nirik, where to send such an email for your sig then?
16:12:29 <adamw> where did you send it?
16:13:14 <lruzicka> I dont remember, I am trying to find it :)
16:13:38 <adamw> =)
16:13:39 <lruzicka> Aaah, I know
16:13:49 <nirik> https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/xfce.lists.fedoraproject.org/
16:14:03 <lruzicka> I sent it to you, adamw, for approval :) and never got anything back :)
16:14:10 <adamw> oh, you did?
16:14:24 <lruzicka> yup, subject was Letter to SIG
16:14:29 <lruzicka> nirik, thank you
16:14:48 <adamw> lruzicka: ooh, indeed. except...that mail does not actually include any letter :)
16:14:57 <adamw> it says "Hey Adam,
16:14:57 <adamw> could you go over the letter draft and say if we can send to the KDE and
16:14:57 <adamw> XFCE SIGs?"
16:14:59 <adamw> but...that's it
16:15:18 <adamw> sorry i didn't reply, i must've meant to ask you for clarification but forgot...
16:15:28 <lruzicka> must have missed it then somehow terribly
16:15:48 <lruzicka> ok, I will resend asap and when you feel like ok, then tomorrow I am going for the SIGs then
16:15:50 <adamw> see, folks, this is the highly-oiled efficiency that's expected of red hat employees
16:15:58 <adamw> this is what ibm is paying all that money for
16:16:02 <lruzicka> :D
16:16:14 <adamw> lruzicka: sounds good
16:16:27 <adamw> #action adamw to review core desktop app mail draft for lruzicka and kparal
16:17:45 <adamw> any other things to follow up on from the last meeting, anyone?
16:18:31 <lruzicka> adamw, email sent
16:18:53 <adamw> thanks
16:19:05 <lruzicka> no problem, sorry about the delay
16:20:51 <adamw> #topic Fedora 30 status
16:21:02 <adamw> so, f30 status at present is 'a bit broken' :)
16:21:42 <adamw> #info Workstation live installer has been broken since 2018-12-22: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1663040
16:21:55 <adamw> #info composes have been broken for the last few days: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1663585
16:22:45 <adamw> #info both bugs are being worked on, we should have composes (one way or another) soon, installer bug may take a bit longer, but can be worked around by doing 'setenforce 0' and restarting systemd-hostnamed
16:24:05 <lruzicka> great :)
16:24:10 <adamw> we also have an issue with boot messages (inc. decryption prompts) not appearing in aarch64 installs - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1661288
16:26:06 <adamw> #info on ppc64le the installer is not starting correctly at all, will look into that
16:26:35 <adamw> i'm not aware of any major issues in day-to-day use, you know of anything nirik?
16:26:37 * adamw brb, call of nature
16:27:50 <nirik> fbset was retired.
16:28:03 <nirik> sharkcz has a patch I think for lorax
16:30:09 <nirik> oh, or it was the new qemu broken for ppc64le... (we downgraded the builders)
16:32:27 <adamw> nirik: prolly not qemu, as the test boxes run f29.
16:32:33 <adamw> fbset sounds like a possibility...
16:32:46 <adamw> can you ping me on any relevant bug report or whatever?
16:32:46 <nirik> yes, the f29 qemu
16:32:49 <adamw> oh.
16:32:50 <nirik> busted on ppc64le
16:37:09 <adamw> so, anyone have any other thoughts / notes on F30?
16:37:15 <adamw> any Change proposals people are worried about? I haven't read them all
16:37:33 <frantisekz> don't see anything scary there :)
16:38:25 * satellit liveinst does not work in rawhide soas live
16:38:57 <adamw> satellit: yup, please do file a bug on that
16:38:58 * satellit like 1663040
16:39:08 <satellit> times out
16:39:46 <adamw> check if systemd-hostnamed.service is failed
16:39:49 <adamw> if so, likely the same bug...
16:40:02 <satellit> k
16:40:32 <satellit> there were changes in ssh added it git also
16:40:39 <satellit> in*
16:41:19 <lruzicka> The GDM log in screen does not show the language selection icon any more
16:42:44 <adamw> lruzicka: yeah, i have a bug filed on that
16:42:51 <adamw> it's in ggo, not brc
16:43:03 <lruzicka> adamw, oops me, to ... which one is yours||?
16:43:06 <adamw> i don't know if we can tag gnome git bugs in openQA :/ i'll have to check
16:43:42 <lruzicka> ah, ok, I filed it in bugzilla, maybe I could paste the link to your bug in there
16:44:10 <adamw> lruzicka: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/848
16:44:14 <adamw> yeah, let's associate them for great justice
16:44:47 <lruzicka> thanks
16:44:59 <adamw> what's your bug?
16:45:41 <lruzicka> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1664086
16:46:19 <sharkcz> nirik: yes, https://github.com/weldr/lorax/pull/559 fixes the fbset retirement
16:47:09 <satellit> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1663040#c12
16:47:59 <adamw> sharkcz: should that get our ppc tests working again?
16:48:59 <adamw> oop, we're running out of time
16:49:02 <sharkcz> adamw: it will, unless there is another issue
16:49:13 <adamw> sharkcz: awesome, i'll try and get bcl to merge / build
16:49:47 <sharkcz> adamw: I've talked to sbueno and she will ask bcl
16:49:56 <adamw> #topic Test Day / community event status
16:50:00 <sumantro> We have test days called and the tickets filed. The test days kicks off on 15th Jan with Kernel 4.20 Test Day and then proceed thereon. Gnome 3.32 is being discussed and we will have a test day for it on the week of 25th feb '19. There will be onboarding calls which I am talking out with coremodule and frantisekz. I will post on @test shortly once we are clear about who is free when and after devconf travel .
16:50:08 <adamw> sharkcz: see i just cut out the middleperson and ping bcl until he does what i want. :P
16:50:16 <adamw> wow, sumantro was waiting for that huh
16:50:24 <sumantro> adamw :D
16:50:29 <sharkcz> adamw: that should work too :-)
16:51:11 <adamw> #info several test days are already queued up, first test day will be kernel 4.20 on 2019-01-15. GNOME 3.32 test day is expected in February. Onboarding calls are currently being organized, more details to come on test@
16:52:20 <adamw> is that everything, sumantro?
16:52:30 <sumantro> adamw yep! :) Thanks :D
16:53:03 <sumantro> coremodule, is presenting about getting started with fedora qa at devconf
16:53:30 <coremodule> woot!
16:53:41 <adamw> yaaay
16:53:44 <sumantro> people attending to note and attend!!
16:54:16 <adamw> #info devconf.cz is coming up 2019-01-25 to 2019-01-27, coremodule and adamw will both be presenting on QA-related topics: see https://devconfcz2019.sched.com/
16:54:28 * adamw loves when he gets to refer to himself in the third person
16:55:03 <lruzicka> who is presenting at DevConf? Sumantro or Coremodule?
16:55:15 <sumantro> coremodule is
16:55:24 <adamw> https://devconfcz2019.sched.com/event/Jcl8/getting-started-in-fedora-qa is coremodule's session
16:55:31 <adamw> https://devconfcz2019.sched.com/event/Jce7/things-fedora-qa-robots-do is mine
16:55:39 <lruzicka> nice, I am looking forward to your coming, guys
16:56:01 <adamw> https://devconfcz2019.sched.com/event/Jce4/dont-move-that-fence-til-you-know-why-its-there is my other one, but it's not specifically qa-related
16:56:04 <adamw> but come anyway!
16:56:12 <adamw> #topic Open floor
16:56:15 <adamw> anything else, folks?
16:56:33 <frantisekz> adamw, I've finally figured out the blockerbugs weirdness on stg :) :)
16:57:06 <adamw> yay!
16:57:08 <adamw> what was up?
16:57:36 <frantisekz> (not that I know what is causing that, just that it's not issue on our side), so, partly figured that out... :D
16:58:59 <adamw> oh, heh.
16:59:52 <frantisekz> should I dig deeper, or is it enough to know that stg will always be partner-bz even if it's not in config?
17:00:10 <adamw> it's probably fine
17:00:29 <adamw> i always like solving mysteries, but this one doesn't seem like a huge deal
17:00:33 <frantisekz> okay, next time we change something, we can deploy to prod first and then to stg... :D
17:00:45 <adamw> it may just be as simple as 'bugzilla.redhat.com' in infra staging points to partner-bugzilla or something
17:00:52 <frantisekz> yeah, probably
17:01:19 <adamw> frantisekz: remember, that's how the most interesting man in the world likes it :P
17:01:26 <frantisekz> :D
17:01:30 <adamw> alrighty, folks, looks like we're done here
17:01:34 <adamw> thanks for coming, everyone
17:01:35 * adamw sets fuse
17:01:48 <sumantro> adamw, thanks for hosting
17:02:29 <frantisekz> adamw, thanks!
17:03:49 <adamw> #endmeeting
