05:49:07 <suanand> hi..

05:50:45 <paragan> Fedora 29 released last month
05:50:52 <paragan> #info https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/30/Schedule
05:51:29 <paragan> the first deadline for Fedora 30 is on 8th Jan Change Checkpoint: Proposal submission deadline (System Wide Changes)
05:51:43 <paragan> any one got any Changes to be implemented for Fedora 30?
05:52:06 <paragan> #chair mfabian_ pwu vishal_vvr fujiwarat suanand juhp
05:52:06 <zodbot> Current chairs: fujiwarat juhp mfabian_ paragan pwu suanand vishal_vvr
05:53:31 <mfabian_> paragan: Maybe make ibus-typing-booster the default for Indian languages instead of ibus-m17n?
05:53:34 <juhp> Ah tagoh is away - I think he has some font related Changes
05:54:20 <juhp> (font including fontconfig)
05:54:34 <paragan> mfabian_, Good to have a Change page for that :)
05:54:42 <paragan> juhp, Okay
05:55:36 <paragan> Others can also think if they got any of their development can be proposed as Change
05:55:42 <mfabian_> paragan: OK, I’ll create a Change page. Do you think that would be a good Change? Is ibus-typing-booster better than ibus-m17n for most Indian users?
05:56:37 <paragan> It should be good for them but we should not remove the way to override the ibus-typing-booster default setting
05:57:07 <paragan> they should be able to set normal m17n keymaps as default for them
05:58:21 <mfabian_> paragan: You mean beeing able to select ibus-m17n in gnome-initial-setup?
05:58:31 <paragan> yes
05:59:08 <mfabian_> paragan: Yes, they should both be shown gnome-initial-setup.
05:59:57 <paragan> good then :)
06:01:54 <paragan> Any other thing to discuss for doing any development for Fedora 30?
06:02:25 <juhp> I hope we could get langpacks installation working in gnome-software
06:02:45 <paragan> sure this time we definitely get it working :)
06:03:07 <juhp> Also I am thinking about https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/97 (getting rid of or reducing language groups)
06:03:26 <paragan> let's move to tickets
06:03:32 <juhp> Anyone interested?
06:03:54 <paragan> we have that ticket on today's agenda
06:04:12 <juhp> alright - I meant in the context of F30
06:04:24 <paragan> Oh okay
06:05:49 <juhp> We can discuss more later then
06:06:38 <paragan> #topic Outstanding issue
06:06:38 <paragan> #info #102: Docs Beats for Fedora 29 (pnemade)
06:06:38 <paragan> #link https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/102
06:06:54 <juhp> Why isn't it closed? :)
06:07:11 <paragan> we have not verified yet what has been actually delivered
06:07:21 <paragan> or did we?
06:07:56 <juhp> ah okay
06:08:10 <paragan> #info https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora/f29/release-notes/desktop/I18n/
06:08:13 <paragan> looks good
06:08:17 <juhp> then we should I guess - though I think it is too late?
06:08:28 <paragan> we can close it now
06:10:14 <paragan> #topic No assignee issues
06:10:14 <paragan> #info #97: Replace comps language support groups with weak dependencies (petersen)
06:10:14 <paragan> #link https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/97
06:10:24 <paragan> anyone want to work on this ticket?
06:10:55 <juhp> What do people think of the proposal?
06:11:10 <juhp> https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/97#comment-535513
06:12:08 <juhp> I added conditional too now (in an edit)
06:14:42 <paragan> can we have any one language example here about how for that language required changes should be done?
06:14:47 <juhp> I am interested in working on it but would also appreciate some help, review, etc
06:14:52 <juhp> Good idea
06:15:16 <paragan> I can help to review :)
06:15:17 <juhp> Yeah I will take a language group or two and see how they would transform
06:17:21 <paragan> Okay then
06:17:38 <paragan> we can keep working on this proposal
06:17:58 <juhp> paragan: thanks
06:18:31 <juhp> Anyone feel free to add comments if you see flaws or problems
06:19:40 <paragan> #info #100: Fedora 27 Bug triaging (pnemade)
06:19:40 <paragan> #link https://pagure.io/i18n/issue/100
06:21:17 <paragan> #info The bug list for Fedora 27 is https://da.gd/xRxzJ
06:21:47 <paragan> #info F27 hits its EOL on November 27th 2018
06:22:53 <mfabian_> I cannot reproduce the two aborts for ibus-typing-booster and ibus-table, so I think I’ll just leave these two bugs. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1519045 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1550402
06:24:05 <paragan> Okay
06:24:36 <paragan> there are 5 ibus bugs in that list
06:25:45 <paragan> if you think any bug is important and need to be fixed and is reproducible in F29+ then move it before it gets auto-closed
06:25:58 <juhp> +1
06:26:24 <juhp> please review the f27 bugs and take appropriate action
06:27:39 <paragan> let's move
06:27:47 <paragan> #topic Open Floor
06:27:55 <paragan> anyone got any thing to discuss
06:29:48 <mfabian_> If I get a coredump from gedit, isn’t it surprising that I don’t see anything if I start gnome-abrt then?
06:33:06 <paragan> you should see
06:33:49 <mfabian_> [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ coredumpctl --reverse list gedit
06:33:49 <mfabian_> TIME PID UID GID SIG COREFILE EXE
06:33:49 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:21:25 CET 16807 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:33:49 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:17:21 CET 16743 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:33:52 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:17:08 CET 16678 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:33:54 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:16:41 CET 16614 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:33:58 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:14:28 CET 16520 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:34:01 <mfabian_> Tue 2018-11-20 07:14:08 CET 16435 1000 1000 11 present /usr/bin/gedit
06:34:04 <mfabian_>
06:34:09 <mfabian_> but I see nothing in gnome-abrt. This is in a f29 vm with all updates.
06:34:44 <juhp> Is abrt working?
06:35:35 <mfabian_> juhp: You mean whether I can start gnome-abrt? Yes, I can but it shows nothing.
06:36:00 <juhp> No I don't mean gnome-abrt :)
06:36:23 <juhp> Well that too I suppose
06:38:17 <paragan> mfabian_, try reporting your problem first against gnome-abrt then
06:38:30 <mfabian_> I can reproducibly crash gedit by clicking on "insert emoji" (context menu on right mouse), then scroll down to an emoji which should have skin colours, then long press the left mouse button or short press the right mouse button.
06:39:13 <juhp> mfabian_: ah you mean the gtk emoji picker is crashing?
06:39:21 <mfabian_> juhp: Yes.
06:39:53 <juhp> How about gdb? :)
06:40:11 <mfabian_> juhp: That works.
06:40:41 <mfabian_> I can get the core file using “coredumpctl --reverse dump gedit > core.gedit” and then use gdb, that works.
06:40:52 <mfabian_> I was just surprised why gnome-abrt doesn’t see that.
06:41:19 <juhp> It is new in F29 (gnome-3.30) right?
06:41:19 <juhp> Maybe you found two bugs at once :)
06:41:19 <juhp> shrug
06:41:19 <juhp> Just wondered if any other abrt getting registered
06:41:36 <juhp> Is TERMing a program sufficient to trigger an abrt?
06:41:52 <juhp> or KILL rather
06:41:55 <mfabian_> What is new in F29? The way core dumps are stored?
06:42:04 <juhp> I meant the emoji picker
06:42:19 <juhp> No idea about ABRT
06:42:38 <juhp> I feel I am seeing more AVC in f29?
06:42:53 <mfabian_> What is AVC?
06:43:51 <paragan> mfabian_, AVC get fixed soon
06:45:04 <paragan> selinux
06:45:47 <juhp> selinux Access Vector Cache
06:46:12 <juhp> I removed snapd 😬 maybe that helps ;)
06:46:31 <juhp> sorry to go OT
06:46:34 <paragan> I think we can continue discussion in our channels
06:46:40 <paragan> let's close this meeting now
06:46:46 <paragan> thanks all who came to this meeting
06:46:54 <paragan> #endmeeting
