14:36:19 <aslice> There we go. What with the spam restrictions, I had to actually identify myself. :)
14:39:29 <Rhea> #topic Packaging progress
14:39:37 <Rhea> Sorry I got busy with something
14:39:38 <Rhea> err
14:39:42 <Rhea> #chair amitosh
14:39:42 <zodbot> Current chairs: Rhea amitosh aslice omajid pcreech
14:39:52 <Rhea> Seems that the new person from ML is not here?
14:40:09 <Rhea> Anyway... omajid is so awesome that we've got all the things built now
14:40:19 <aslice> omajid++
14:40:19 <zodbot> aslice: Karma for omajid changed to 2 (for the current release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
14:40:42 <Rhea> omajid: I noticed a little... glitch? When installing `dotnet-sdk-2.0` it is looking for an older runtime package that doesn't'exist
14:40:59 <Rhea> Dunno if that was my cache cause it was irght after i uninstalled that very package, although i did try to clean it first
14:41:03 <omajid> Rhea: dotnet-sdk-2.0 is EOL
14:41:07 <Rhea> I had an older version.
14:41:15 <omajid> Rhea: try dotnet-sdk-2.1.2xx
14:41:26 <omajid> that's the verison matching dotnet-runtime-2.0
14:41:30 <Rhea> omajid: when I install it using `dotnet-sdk-`.... that ^
14:41:32 <Rhea> then it works
14:41:47 <Rhea> plain `2.0` didn't... dunno if we want to do something about that
14:41:53 <Rhea> to make it more user friendly
14:42:31 <Rhea> As a followup to that, we need to update the dev portal, I'll get to it tonight, but I would like to know what are we actually trying to tell people... Please see https://developer.fedoraproject.org/tech/languages/csharp/dotnet-installation.html
14:42:32 <omajid> 2.0 is going EOL in september. unless it's really important, i would just leave it
14:42:40 <Rhea> kay
14:42:44 <omajid> runtime 2.0, that is
14:42:52 <Rhea> Do I then just replace 2.0 with 2.1 on the web?
14:42:58 <omajid> yes, please
14:43:00 <Rhea> Or even `install dotnet` without numbers?
14:43:05 <omajid> that too
14:43:14 <omajid> 2.1 will be supported by upstream for a while
14:43:15 <Rhea> I was thinking we could have both 2.0 and 2.1 but one month is not worth it...
14:43:20 <omajid> 2.0 is essentially already dead
14:44:56 <aslice> Hey, quick question (and sorry if it's a dumb one): Are we using koji to build the dotnet packages?
14:45:28 <omajid> no. we are using copr, which is somewhat like koji, but also quite different.
14:45:43 <omajid> at least, it's very different from the "official" koji instance
14:45:51 <aslice> Ok, I wasn't sure if the copr process was different.
14:46:06 <omajid> thought as a packages, i have thrown scratch build into koji to see how it builds things. sometimes copr does things very differently
14:46:17 <omajid> s/thought as a packages/though as a packager/
14:46:54 <Rhea> omajid: should I refer to only `dotnet` to install the latest sdk, and then also mention that one can install specific version with -sdk-version or -runtime-version.. etc?
14:47:34 <omajid> Rhea: sure. it shouldnt matter too much now, but might become more relevant with a future 2.2 release
14:48:32 <Rhea> yup
14:49:01 <Rhea> You said that the next release builds in Fedora the other day, this was just local right?
14:49:37 <omajid> yeah, just local
14:50:03 <Rhea> Do you expect any issues in copr? o.o
14:50:11 <omajid> well, i was just playing with the latest tag, not sure if that's final or not
14:50:23 <omajid> Rhea: hard to be sure. hopefully no issues this time around
14:50:37 <Rhea> :]
14:51:17 <Rhea> #topic Open Floor
14:51:25 <Rhea> Does anyone have anything to talk about? :]
14:51:57 <Rhea> I get that this is a no then :P
14:52:23 <Rhea> So if not we can call it with a few minutes to spare before the next meeting
14:55:09 <Rhea> #endmeeting
