14:36:12 <x3mboy> #link https://fedoramagazine.org/fedora-classroom-session-2/
14:36:40 <x3mboy> We want to continue helping join SIG with this work, publicizing everything in the social networks
14:37:42 <x3mboy> It will be awesome if we support the speakers with the YouTube account to work with Jitsi and streaming alive. Also this will allow to have the sessions recorded
14:38:23 <x3mboy> #topic Open Floor
14:38:27 <x3mboy> Any comment?
14:38:49 <bt0> No, the classroom session looks awesome :)
14:39:00 <x3mboy> Ok
14:39:19 <x3mboy> Well, I will open several tickets, but I want to comment here to have the log recorded with this
14:39:32 <bt0> ohh, I open a ticket for the design team
14:39:43 <x3mboy> 1. YouTube short how to's series
14:39:56 <bt0> about the search box in the fedmagazine
14:40:08 <x3mboy> bt0++
14:40:08 <zodbot> x3mboy: Karma for bt0dotninja changed to 8 (for the f26 release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
14:40:36 <x3mboy> Thanks for that. That is a comment from bexelbie, hopefully we can have an answer soon
14:40:37 <bt0> let me update the marketing ticket
14:42:04 <x3mboy> Continuing with 1. The YouTube channel of the project is kind of abandoned, even the sub-project reports are being uploaded in the mattdm account. The idea of this series is achieve 2 objectives: 1. Revive the channel 2. Do something fun and attract more people into Marketing team
14:43:25 <x3mboy> 2. A podcast series with some interviews. The spirit of this is kind of follow the cproffit idea with the HDYF series in the magazine, but also include some interesting news, some tech reading and being updated in several fronts.
14:44:09 <x3mboy> I think my point is that marketing now should point to be more present in social media and use interactive/multimedia media to reach more people
14:44:19 <x3mboy> Well, that's all I have
14:44:33 <bexelbie> !
14:44:45 <x3mboy> bexelbie, it's open floor, go ahead
14:44:54 <bexelbie> We should get mattdm to start publishing on the youtube account :)
14:44:57 <bexelbie> the right one :)
14:45:22 <bexelbie> also, if we wanted to we could make some special swag or a badge for people who provide material that marketing finds value in for the youtube channel or other efforts
14:45:46 <bexelbie> eom
14:45:56 <mattdm> bexelbie: I'm happy to publish council meetings ... is that what you mean?
14:46:22 <x3mboy> That's a great idea, let me create the ticket and include this
14:46:39 <bexelbie> mattdm, yes :)
14:46:59 <x3mboy> :D
14:47:01 <bexelbie> x3mboy, If we go with physical swag of any sort it'd be nice if we could use it for people who give public talks at non-fedora events too
14:47:10 <bexelbie> like someone who gives a talk at a dev conference
14:47:38 <x3mboy> bexelbie, cool! I know PyCon is coming, that will be a great place to start
14:50:11 <bt0> Perhaps add regional channels? many talks that can attract people to the group are given by ambassadors in local languages
14:50:28 <x3mboy> #link http://ar.pycon.org/
14:50:45 <x3mboy> Argentina PyCon. It looks that we will have ambassadors there
14:51:51 <x3mboy> bt0, why not? Even my idea of the short how to's should be easily translatable
14:52:21 <x3mboy> #link https://2017.pycon.ca/
14:52:52 <x3mboy> #link https://de.pycon.org/
14:53:18 <x3mboy> Sorry for the link posting, but the Pycons should be great events to have Fedora people giving talks
14:53:34 <x3mboy> Ok, with this ideas on mind, I will close the meeting
14:53:43 <x3mboy> Any final thought? bexelbie mattdm bt0 ?
14:53:53 <bt0> no
14:54:09 <bexelbie> reading
14:54:18 <bexelbie> so
14:54:37 <bexelbie> my gut feeling is that right now regional channels will not necessarily have a lot of content and that we could easily combine everything into one
14:54:44 <bexelbie> I'd like to see the ambassadors tell us what they need
14:55:13 <bexelbie> I'd also like to see us eventually feeding the same message out in multiple languages, if non-English speakers are targets for that messaging
14:58:06 <x3mboy> I think we can ask for more input. English should be our first attempt, if it's successful we can hear the voice of the people, and if other languages content is requested, think about the options we can offer them
14:58:30 <x3mboy> But right now, my main concern, and the one I will ask in the ticket is content
14:59:04 <x3mboy> What kind of tutorials, how-to's, bash magic, applications or whatever, people want to see in the youtube channel?
14:59:34 <x3mboy> Thanks for attend. bexelbie mattdm bt0
14:59:39 <x3mboy> See you later!
