15:08:49 <adamw> take it to the tribunal
15:08:52 <tflink> no idea, probably not
15:08:52 <adamw> alrighty
15:10:21 <adamw> #topic Previous meeting follow-up
15:10:27 <adamw> oh
15:10:35 <adamw> #chair tflink sumukher
15:10:35 <zodbot> Current chairs: adamw sumukher tflink
15:10:58 <adamw> #info "adamw to try and get some response from the DNF team for https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/issue/495 (DNF 2.0 Test Day)" - I tried, I failed! backup plan: we're gonna do it without their help.
15:11:17 <sumukher> adamw , i contacted , had a word
15:11:20 <adamw> aha
15:11:22 <adamw> what'd they say?
15:12:05 <sumukher> they are planning to go for it on 28th , which is short time so i asked them if they can make it first week of may , which they are okay with!
15:12:23 <sumukher> i have sent you an email for some help which will be required!
15:12:49 <adamw> great, i'll follow up after the meeting
15:13:00 <sumukher> sure , Thanks :)
15:13:02 <adamw> #info sumukher managed to contact DNF team, plans are afoot to run the test day first week in May
15:13:27 <adamw> ok, the other one is: "roshi and sumukher to look at making the test cases and install validation matrix cover both 'custom partitioning' and blivet-gui-in-anaconda"
15:13:30 <adamw> what's the news on that, guys?
15:13:55 <sumukher> i couldn't get time to work on this at all, i will finish it this week
15:14:19 <roshi> and once that's done I'll edit it if needed and we'll get it pushed :)
15:14:43 <sumukher> roshi, is very helpful :) roshi ++
15:15:24 <roshi> tbh, sumukher is doing all the work :p
15:15:37 <adamw> roger, thanks guys
15:15:59 <adamw> #info "roshi and sumukher to look at making the test cases and install validation matrix cover both 'custom partitioning' and blivet-gui-in-anaconda" - sumukher didn't have time for this yet, will finish it this week and roshi will review
15:16:09 <adamw> please remember to send a draft to the list for review first
15:16:24 <sumukher> adamw, sure !
15:16:39 <adamw> alright, that's all the action items - any other followup?
15:17:29 <sumukher> Fedora Media Writer Test Day was underway!
15:17:48 <adamw> indeed, thanks for looking after that
15:18:09 <sumukher> went good! , test day reports going out in sometime
15:18:17 <adamw> #info the Media Writer Test Day ran smoothly, thanks to sumukher - results at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2017-04-20_Fedora_Media_Writer
15:18:47 <sumukher> the previous test day report is up on community blog https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/anaconda-blivetgui-report/
15:20:08 <adamw> waesome
15:20:10 <adamw> also awesome
15:20:20 <adamw> #topic Fedora 26 status
15:20:40 <adamw> this is just the usual catch-all topic in case there's anything we need to discuss / worry about
15:21:14 <adamw> just in case anyone was wondering, yes there was a gigantic outage on friday, you did not imagine it :) the data center where almost all of fedora's servers live went down, so just about everything was gone.
15:21:25 <adamw> more or less everything should be back to normal by now.
15:21:35 <roshi> looks like it's all good
15:21:38 <roshi> from what I can see
15:21:57 <sumukher> adamw, there is a progress bar mismatch while installing fedora , is it something to be concerned about?
15:23:27 <adamw> sumkuh: yeah, i read someone else mentioned that
15:23:36 <adamw> it sounds like definitely a bug, someone should file it if no-one has yet
15:24:02 <adamw> there was a recent commit that tries to keep updating the progress bar during post-install, that's probably the cause
15:24:24 <adamw> it's probably not a beta blocker since it's only a visual flaw, but maybe final
15:24:59 <adamw> there's a bug with gnome-initial-setup that started showing up with GNOME 3.24.1 which is causing a lot of openqa failures, it'd be interesting to know if folks can reproduce it - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1443206
15:25:18 <adamw> happens every time in a VM for me and also on my test laptop, but someone in the bug said they don't see it in virtualbox or something
15:27:17 <adamw> looking at testcase_stats , we do have a few Beta tests not yet run
15:27:21 <adamw> so it'd be good if folks could help out with those
15:27:37 <adamw> including the infamous 'hardware RAID'...I usually do that one, but my test box is out of commission atm
15:28:04 <adamw> #info there are some Beta tests which have still not been run yet, please help out with these if you can: https://www.happyassassin.net/testcase_stats/26/
15:28:17 <adamw> sgallagh: we should get the AD tests done...
15:29:04 <sgallagh> adamw: I'll see what I can do. Life has been hectic of late
15:29:19 <adamw> i love it when someone immediately understands that "we" means "you"
15:29:20 <adamw> sgallagh++
15:29:21 * roshi thought it was just him sgallagh
15:29:23 <zodbot> adamw: Karma for sgallagh changed to 10 (for the f25 release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
15:29:35 <roshi> when is karmabot going to get updated for F26
15:29:39 <roshi> ?
15:29:41 <sgallagh> heh
15:29:45 <tflink> when it's released
15:29:46 <sgallagh> roshi: Happens on release day
15:30:05 <adamw> we're the only ones living in the future, man
15:30:17 <roshi> ah, I thought it was karma for the current thing we're working on
15:30:46 * roshi always confuses $FUTURE and $PRESENT
15:30:52 <roshi> carryon
15:32:31 <adamw> where was i
15:32:35 <adamw> why did i come in here
15:32:42 <adamw> what are all these people looking at me for
15:32:50 <roshi> $REASONS
15:33:00 <adamw> oh, yes, an ambiguously worded agenda item!
15:33:04 <adamw> #topic Action ideas?
15:33:49 <roshi> lol
15:33:59 <adamw> so, uh, i think what i was thinking when i wrote this (which certainly wasn't after several beers) is...anyone got any ideas? you know? stuff we should be doing which isn't just all the same stuff? exciting new frontiers of qa? (or even front ears, maybe they'd be a good idea)
15:34:05 <roshi> just looking for ideas?
15:34:17 <Southern_Gentlem> if we can get beta out the door sooner can that happen ?
15:34:32 <adamw> Southern_Gentlem: not this cycle, no - too much other stuff is planned around the chosen dates
15:34:41 <Southern_Gentlem> ok
15:34:45 <sumukher> since we have a lot of new members , I was thinking of proposing a on boarding session.
15:34:49 <roshi> there's always wiki cleanup, pruning
15:34:56 <Southern_Gentlem> i was hoping we beat the releases dates for once
15:35:06 <adamw> but having more flexibility about 'release dates' is certainly something to keep in mind for all the changes coming in fedora 27 and later cycles
15:35:09 <roshi> attack documentation and chase it into current
15:35:16 <adamw> sumukher: sounds like a good idea - same way we've done it before?
15:35:22 <adamw> roshi: sure, everyone loves doing that ;)
15:35:24 <sumukher> yes :)
15:35:26 <roshi> and I mean the docs themselves, not the docs team
15:35:33 <roshi> they have enough on their plates :p
15:35:48 <adamw> also i hear they're serious about home defence.
15:35:59 <roshi> yup
15:36:06 <roshi> better to be their friends
15:36:09 <adamw> #info sumukher suggests it could be a good time for another onboarding session
15:36:11 <roshi> send them beer and cookies
15:36:20 <adamw> #info roshi suggests wiki cleanup is always a good thing
15:37:07 <sumukher> adamw, closing issues on pagure which are related to fhosted to pagure as they are complete long time
15:37:11 <adamw> which, btw, yes, you're right - please by all means poke around the qa wiki space and fix stuff. please do be careful about editing the magic pages for release validation, though. all of those have big warning headers on them.
15:37:19 <adamw> sumkuh: sounds good
15:37:39 <adamw> sumukher: just general cleanup of the open pagure tickets would be a good idea
15:37:54 <adamw> i used to go through the tickets in trac at the start of the cycle and clean up ones that had gone stale, but i don't think i've done it for the past two cyclkes
15:38:09 <adamw> also by doing that you sometimes find good ideas/proposals that had been forgotten
15:38:26 <adamw> sumukher: do you want to take that one as an action item?
15:38:33 <sumukher> yes sure! :)
15:39:36 <adamw> #action sumukher to go through open pagure tickets and clean them up (refresh ones that are still valid, close ones that have died of old age)
15:39:42 <adamw> do ping me if there are any you're not sure about
15:40:00 <sumukher> adamw, sure thing!
15:40:38 <adamw> any other bright ideas, gang?
15:42:56 * roshi has some dull ones. out of the bright ones
15:43:09 * adamw wonders if we're desperate enough for roshi's bad ideas
15:43:15 <roshi> I doubt it
15:43:24 <roshi> things would have had to slip *really* far for that
15:43:51 <adamw> heheh
15:43:57 <adamw> keep them in reserve for next week, then
15:44:01 <adamw> #topic Open floor
15:44:03 <roshi> you got it
15:44:08 <adamw> alrighty then, any other business, folks?
15:44:21 <roshi> man, asking for ideas and then business?
15:44:21 <tflink> nothing from me
15:44:36 <roshi> blocker review in 15 minutes
15:44:58 <sumukher> The classroom sessions from Fedora QA has been proposed amita has come forward to help https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/classroom@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/RBVHZT4Y5XMF56DLLWIMTAEDYTX42STW/
15:46:05 <adamw> roshi: you could do something with a rubber chicken on a stick, maybe?
15:46:11 <roshi> probably
15:46:12 <adamw> sumukher: awesome
15:46:20 <roshi> but only if the wind is right and it's a Tuesday
15:46:26 <adamw> sumukher: any help needed there? amita's usually good at just going ahead and doing stuff
15:46:47 <adamw> #info amita has volunteered to run a Fedora Classroom session on QA: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/classroom@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/RBVHZT4Y5XMF56DLLWIMTAEDYTX42STW/
15:46:50 <sumukher> No we can handle this :)
15:46:53 <adamw> thanks a lot :)
15:47:25 <sumukher> my pleasure :)
15:48:02 <adamw> alrighty then folks
15:48:20 <adamw> as roshi says, blocker review is in 12 minutes in #fedora-blocker-review - be there or...be doing something more interesting instead, i suppose
15:48:34 <adamw> thanks for coming, everyone!
15:48:35 * adamw sets the fuse
15:48:38 <roshi> more interesting than blocker review!? Perish the thought!
15:48:53 <sumukher> adamw thanks for hosting the meeting! :)
15:49:10 <adamw> roshi: i know, it's hard to believe
15:49:25 <roshi> next you'll tell me people don't read docs for pleasure
15:50:24 <adamw> well i don't know about 'people', but my ebook contains only a complete collection of RFCs, PEPs and every version of the UEFI specification
15:50:35 * pjones bets against.
15:50:52 <adamw> guess who has a highlight for 'UEFI'
15:51:01 <pjones> oh, like you didn't know.
15:51:03 <adamw> =)
15:51:12 <adamw> it's like the pjones bat signal
15:51:32 <adamw> alrighty, see you in #fedora-blocker-review in nine minutes
15:51:35 <adamw> synchronize watches!
15:51:39 <adamw> #endmeeting
