05:02:22 <cmurf> #agreed Approved
05:02:24 <cmurf> #topic Announcements, follow-ups, status reports
05:02:26 <cmurf> #info Michael: In Fedora 35 gnome-initial-setup is in a pretty bad state (everything is broken).
05:02:28 <cmurf> Main issue is likely SELinux, Adam Williamson has been chasing and the SELinux team are looking into a fix.
05:02:30 <cmurf> Michael isn't convinced that it's all SELinux's fault, though.
05:02:32 <cmurf> #info Toolbox is broken in Fedora 35 as well.
05:02:34 <cmurf> #topic Fedora 35 milestones
05:02:36 <cmurf> Allan: We should look through the tickets under F35 milestone and close those that are fixed.
05:02:38 <cmurf> Owen: #105 is basically complete. Need to verify that the gnome-initial-setup changes are actually working. Need to test this with Silverblue as well.
05:02:40 <cmurf> #action Owen to enable the missing fedora-third-party-refresh onboot service for silverblue. Tomas to help with testing.
05:02:42 <cmurf> Allan: #186, the malcontent ticket. Should parental controls be enabled in gnome-initial-setup?
05:02:44 <cmurf> #info We've decided to disable parental controls in gnome-initial-setup.
05:02:46 <cmurf> #action Allan to file a ticket against gnome-initial-setup for FE; Kalev to disable it in gnome-initial-setup.
05:02:48 <cmurf> #topic GNOME Software 41 declares Fedora RPMs "unsafe"
05:02:50 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/244
05:02:52 <cmurf> Allan: We should decide if it is worth to use "safe" / "unsafe" language. The previous design that's in Fedora 34 used less strong language.
05:02:54 <cmurf> Neal: "safe" implies things that we cannot realistically promise. Even with flatpak we shouldn't say "safe".
05:02:56 <cmurf> What we are doing now is just wrong. We can't say that everything that our distribution provides is unsafe.
05:02:58 <cmurf> Matthias and Owen agree with that we shouldn't say that the rpms we provide are unsafe. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are safe, but we shouldn't label all the rpms with that label.
05:03:00 <cmurf> Allan: The goal with the design was to get app developers to use best practices for app distribution.
05:03:02 <cmurf> Lots of discussion about advantages of sandboxing.
05:03:04 <cmurf> Allan: We seem to be broadly in agreement. Allan to go and talk to upstream gnome-software developers and try and get this fixed for 41.1. Options: See if we can re-use older translated strings? Come up with something new and see if translators are OK with translating it for 41.1? Just remove the warning?
05:03:06 <cmurf> #topic Open Floor
05:03:08 <cmurf> Anyone who wants to work on the magazine article on what's new in F35?
