16:17:23 <cmurf> #agreed approved
16:17:25 <cmurf> #topic Announcements, follow-ups, status reports
16:17:27 <cmurf> - GUADEC - in July, happening online
16:17:29 <cmurf> #link https://events.gnome.org/event/9/
16:17:31 <cmurf> Allan: Survey from GNOME project targeting Linux desktop users
16:17:33 <cmurf> #topic Broadcom wireless
16:17:35 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/116
16:17:37 <cmurf> Chris: Even the kernel part isn't in a good shape, the b43 driver could be make to work with RPMFusion enabled (which brings in the tainted non-free firmware blob). But no 5GHz WiFi on some hardware; according to Neal it works on his MacBook - probably it depends on HW. And RPM Fusion also has proprietary wl driver which does support 5Ghz.
16:17:39 <cmurf> Neal: Also RPi is using the same driver
16:17:41 <cmurf> Neal: If RH's IOT/Automotive has a contact in Infineon they could ask whether they should leverage the license (then it would be included in the Fedora repositories and on installation media) on the firmware. Or ask on Twitter for contact.
16:17:43 <cmurf> Neal: We might do the same as we do with Nvidia driver, but I don't prefer to do so unless we have to really do it.
16:17:45 <cmurf> #action Matthias to talk to Alberto and Peter Robinson
16:17:47 <cmurf> #topic Release art for GNOME Software
16:17:49 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/230
16:17:51 <cmurf> The artwork has to be part of the previous stable release (so the upgrade works)
16:17:53 <cmurf> Neal: That would mean that the artwork should be ready much early in the cycle
16:17:55 <cmurf> Allan: Maybe we should rework things so they don't require a special artwork? (Matthias: some general one)
16:17:57 <cmurf> Michael: Actually it's a cut out from the official wallpaper
16:17:59 <cmurf> Michael: The Software developers asked for hosting the artwork somewhere on the internet so it doesn't need to be bundled to the package
16:18:01 <cmurf> Neal: We could put the link to the resource into AppData
16:18:03 <cmurf> Kalev: We should probably create a JSON file with the information, host it somewhere and point Software to it
16:18:05 <cmurf> #action Kalev handover the upgrade plugin to Milan and they will figure out how to proceed (before August 24 when the beta freeze starts).
