03:45:28 <cmurf> Kalev is on vacation.
03:45:30 <cmurf> Langdon has several conflicts with this meeting time. Time to pick a new time?
03:45:32 <cmurf> New welcome screen for gnome-initial-setup is ready
03:45:34 <cmurf> #topic Welcome video for GNOME Tour
03:45:36 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/175
03:45:38 <cmurf> WG discusses the proposed Fedora logo intro video
03:45:40 <cmurf> #agreed This seems to be on the right track.
03:45:42 <cmurf> #topic Remove Photos and Rhythmbox from default apps
03:45:44 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/164
03:45:46 <cmurf> WG discusses music.
03:45:48 <cmurf> WG discusses photos.
03:45:50 <cmurf> WG experiences collective amnesia, forgets that we already approved this change three weeks ago.
03:45:52 <cmurf> #info Some questions about Videos being the default music player. Upstream is OK with this.
03:45:54 <cmurf> Langdon is concerned about user experience. We would be the only operating system that appears not to support photos and music. "What do I click on to see the pictures that are on my computer? What do I click on to hear the music that is on my computer?"
03:45:56 <cmurf> Neal is OK with removing Rhythmbox because Videos can play music. Not OK with removing Photos since we don't have anything else that can display images. Neal learns we do have eog though, which opens images, and Photos cannot open images.
03:45:58 <cmurf> Chris mentions that even if you don't use certain apps regularly, we still need a basic way to display an image or play an audio file.
03:46:00 <cmurf> #agreed Continue discussion next week when Allan is present.
03:46:02 <cmurf> #topic btrfs Fedora Magazine article
03:46:04 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/162
03:46:06 <cmurf> Langdon suggests this article belongs on community blog rather than Fedora Magazine
03:46:08 <cmurf> Owen suggests that users want to know what btrfs means to them for F33
03:46:10 <cmurf> Michael suggests the first article should be propaganda article that hammers home our position that *btrfs is stable and will protect user data better than traditional filesystems*. Doesn't care whether it goes on Fedora Magazine or Community Blog but this should be the message.
03:46:12 <cmurf> Neal concerned that Community Blog doesn't receive enough attention.
03:46:14 <cmurf> WG has extended discussion on various options for style and substance of this series of articles. Many suggestions are considered.
03:46:16 <cmurf> #action Langdon to attempt a rewrite of the article, working with Chris.
