15:00:47 <pwhalen> good morning folks, who's here today?
15:01:04 * pbrobinson o/
15:01:41 * tdawson lurking
15:01:51 * stellirin lurking too
15:02:55 <pwhalen> welcome, lurkers. Did you have anything you want to discuss this week?
15:03:27 <pbrobinson> or are you interested in anything in particular
15:03:46 <tdawson> Nope, just want to see what the progress is on the various items such as uboot, and the various things you usually talk about.
15:05:09 * pwhalen gives it a couple more minutes for other to join
15:07:15 <pwhalen> ok, lets get started
15:07:22 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Userspace Status  ====
15:07:39 <pwhalen> any new user space issues?
15:08:02 <pbrobinson> #info a failure issue for mozjs60 on aarch64 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1676292
15:08:16 <pbrobinson> was hoping jlinton would be here
15:08:22 <pbrobinson> it's progessing
15:08:32 <pbrobinson> progressing even
15:10:33 <pbrobinson> there's another fix for ARMv7 in gcc that's awaiting a new gcc build
15:10:56 <pbrobinson> I'm wondering if that might allow firefox to progress further to move forward that debug
15:11:04 <pwhalen> oh, nice.. right what I was about to ask as well
15:11:11 <pwhalen> that one...
15:11:34 <pbrobinson> #info branching Fedora 30 off from rawhide today, means Fedora 31 dev cycle begins tomorrow
15:12:02 <pwhalen> a few of our disk images lack a browser now, we should perhaps consider adding something else?
15:12:50 <pwhalen> anyone seeing anything else not yet reporteD?
15:13:26 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Kernel Status ====
15:13:39 <pwhalen> #info F29: kernel-4.20.10-200.fc29
15:13:39 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1210969
15:14:11 <pwhalen> any issues with 4.20?
15:14:26 <pwhalen> I've seen various people having issues with nfs
15:15:08 <pbrobinson> yes, that's not arch dependent
15:15:34 <pwhalen> right
15:15:39 <pbrobinson> I fixed an issue with 4.20 and panda board late last week, that should be in 4.20.11 or what ever comes next
15:16:07 <pwhalen> oh nice, I've not looked at the panda in some time, what was broken there?
15:16:10 <pbrobinson> I'm testing a combo of 4.20.x and 5.0-rcX and most seems OK to me
15:16:25 <pwhalen> #info F30: kernel-5.0.0-0.rc7.git0.1.fc30
15:16:26 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1211748
15:16:51 <pbrobinson> so there was a fix for wl1xxx wifi which makes that solid, and should also make it more stable on a bunch of devices
15:16:56 <pwhalen> it was a holiday here yesterday so I've not tested either new kernel. how does rc7 look
15:17:19 <pbrobinson> and some other regression, I think there's probably more bits needed for panda but it's better
15:17:54 <pbrobinson> in the handful of devices I've tested it seems OK, at least for all current working I've not seen any regressions
15:18:44 <pwhalen> I see some backtraces, but overall everything seems ok
15:19:20 <pwhalen> anything else for kernel news?
15:19:37 <pwhalen> #info Please test and report any issues to the list or #fedora-arm.
15:20:22 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== Bootloader Status ====
15:20:44 <pwhalen> #info uboot-tools-2019.04-0.3.rc2.fc30 available now
15:20:44 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1213151
15:20:53 <pbrobinson> new 2019.04rc2 build today
15:21:17 * pwhalen didnt see any issues with RC1
15:21:41 <pwhalen> anything worth highlighting?
15:22:16 <pbrobinson> nope, I'm slowly moving through some bits there to enhance/improve some devices
15:22:20 <pbrobinson> just need more time
15:23:28 <pwhalen> #info AArch64 disk images default to 'System Setup'
15:23:35 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1678781
15:24:00 <pwhalen> just filed that, will add the grub.cfg to it after the meeting. Not sure if anyone else has hit it
15:24:09 <tdawson> Yes ... is this a bug or a feature?
15:24:19 <pbrobinson> bug
15:24:23 <pbrobinson> I see it too
15:24:40 <pbrobinson> I think you meant rawhide/f30 not 28 pwhalen?
15:25:02 <tdawson> Ya, I only see it on rawhide
15:25:08 <pwhalen> pbrobinson, thanks, changed
15:25:59 <pwhalen> any other bootloader issues?
15:26:49 <pwhalen> #topic 4) == F30 ==
15:27:02 <pwhalen> #info Latest nominated nightly - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test
15:27:02 <pwhalen> #info F30 Beta Blockers
15:27:02 <pwhalen> #link https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/milestone/30/beta/buglist
15:27:09 <pbrobinson> #info branching Fedora 30 off from rawhide today, means Fedora 31 dev cycle begins tomorrow
15:28:06 <pwhalen> I've just started testing, so far a couple installs completed without issue
15:28:15 <pwhalen> disk images in progress
15:30:15 <pwhalen> anything else for f30?
15:30:20 <stellirin> is arm+grub still on track for f30? I haven't noticed any updates in that area for a while
15:30:58 <pbrobinson> stellirin: i'm working on it, slowly
15:31:10 <pbrobinson> stellirin: assistance welcome
15:31:47 <stellirin> is there a WIP i can look at?
15:32:01 <pwhalen> we currently have an issue with grub, the install is working in anaconda but the resulting system doesnt boot
15:32:31 <pbrobinson> stellirin: well most of the bits are in rawhide, so depending on what level you're at you should be able to install grub2 etc and swap over and test
15:33:23 <stellirin> so i can just change the bits in the compose file and try it
15:33:54 <pbrobinson> stellirin: or boot to a standard image and have it setup, and then install grub2 and convert config
15:34:53 <stellirin> OK, good to know, i'll try to find some time (and my cluster, I just recently moved home)
15:36:06 <pwhalen> #topic 5)  == Open Floor ==
15:37:40 <tdawson> I have a question ... which varient would be best to test
15:37:40 * pwhalen will leave the meeting open for a couple of minutes
15:38:15 <tdawson> Meaning Server or Workstation or something else
15:38:15 <pwhalen> tdawson, minimal, server for aarch64. minimal, xfce for armhfp imo
15:38:33 <pwhalen> we block on minimal and xfce for armhfp
15:38:39 <pwhalen> server for aarch64
15:38:46 <tdawson> Oh, I mean image
15:39:09 <pwhalen> right, those are images
15:39:15 <tdawson> https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Server/aarch64/ or https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Workstation/armhfp/
15:39:43 <pwhalen> most of them are in spins
15:39:43 <pbrobinson> tdawson: depending on what you need, I use the minimal image mostly out of the Spins dir
15:39:56 <tdawson> I'm not seeing any image marked as minimal ... oh ... never looked in the spins
15:40:34 <tdawson> I've also noticed that the aarch64 Server doesn't have images, just iso's
15:41:08 <pwhalen> we've lost lxqt again..
15:41:20 <pwhalen> then something went wrong.. I will check on the server image
15:41:23 <tdawson> OK, looking in spins I see the list of different images ... thank you
15:41:53 <pwhalen> for lxqt - Failed to find package 'lxqt-l10n' : no package matched
15:42:14 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: should be fixed whenever we have next good compose
15:43:31 <pwhalen> ok
15:43:35 <pwhalen> anything else for today?
15:45:57 <tdawson> Nothing else from me
15:46:19 <pwhalen> stellirin, tdawson appreciate you joining us today!
