15:33:51 <nirik> #topic plasma mobile / working with kde sig
15:34:14 <nirik> so the first topic I had was working with the plasma folks on a mobile plasma...
15:36:16 <nirik> which is a great idea...
15:36:37 <torsh[m]> What sorts of collaborative efforts can be made?
15:37:06 <jgrulich> https://pagure.io/fedora-mobility/issue/10
15:37:11 <torsh[m]> Right now, as far as cross work goes, the only thing I can think of is the device level work in Kernel and related.
15:37:33 <nirik> well, we still have the issue with the pinephone and upstream kernel
15:37:34 <nirik> yeah
15:40:19 <jgrulich> we have to make sure all Plasma Mobile stuff is packaged, recently I worked on Maliit keyboard (on-screen keyboard), I think most of Plasma Mobile stuff can be also tested without having a phone and bootable image
15:40:39 <jgrulich> we as Fedora KDE SIG
15:41:32 <jgrulich> OnuralpSezer[m]: is making some progress on the packaging
15:42:20 <OnuralpSezer[m]> For "plasma mobile" releated packages, I complete "mauikit" framework and most of the "mobile apps" and soon I'm going to send plasma-mobile main packages and also I'll update ticket (https://pagure.io/fedora-kde/SIG/issue/41) here as well
15:43:08 <OnuralpSezer[m]> After I send generally all the packages, we can start makes "iso" files and start using on VM/Real phone hardware as well
15:44:17 <OnuralpSezer[m]> Side note : ticket is kinda "not updated" much I need to update that more often which I'll do it very soon.
15:45:23 <OnuralpSezer[m]> and after done If I miss any package, please let me know, I'll try to add into my list and finish along with Fedora KDE sig team as well.
15:45:49 <OnuralpSezer[m]> that's pretty much all for me.
15:46:05 <jgrulich> nirik: torsh[m]: is there anything we can help with? Note that we are mostly packages and developers on "app" level, but if there is anything, please let us know.
15:46:15 <jgrulich> *packagers
15:46:23 <nirik> well, the big thing we need is some kind of working network with the fedora kernel...
15:46:32 <torsh[m]> ^
15:46:52 <nirik> either wifi, or modem or usb
15:48:17 <OnuralpSezer[m]> is usb wifi adaptor to "usb cable" -> phone not working ? nirik ?
15:48:35 <OnuralpSezer[m]> or no "usb" at all ?
15:48:50 <tdawson> ls
15:48:54 <jgrulich> I see, I guess none of them work out of the box, are there any upstream changes we can pick and try (like people with the device can try)?
15:49:20 <torsh[m]> Last I tried I don't think I could even charge my device on mainline.
15:50:48 <OnuralpSezer[m]> so, "wifi,bt,usb charge, usb functionality not working ? even LTE modem as well too ?
15:51:08 <nirik> none of them work on the vanilla/fedora kernel I don't think...
15:51:13 <torsh[m]> Correct, none.
15:51:15 <nirik> I haven't tied in a while.
15:51:28 <torsh[m]> I haven't seen anything change lately 🤷‍♂️
15:52:22 <nirik> that takes us to...
15:53:24 <nirik> #topic remix status / issues / plans
15:53:51 <nirik> once we have all the plasma packages packaged we could look at making images for it like we do the phosh based one now?
15:54:11 <torsh[m]> not sure if this is the right topic, but I am blocked on updating Phosh because it needs some stuff in glib 2.69 which was recently released, but hasn't made it to rawhide yet https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/glib2
15:54:11 <yoda[m]> I already made a Plasma image
15:54:36 <yoda[m]> It just only shows sted Plasma Desktop for now
15:54:52 <nirik> yoda[m]: cool!
15:55:08 <nirik> torsh[m]: ah, bummer. is that in a release upsteram yet?
15:55:36 <thunderbirdtr> yoda[m]: is it plasma mobile or "normal kde version of plasma" ?
15:55:38 <torsh[m]> https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/commit/0b2f48022b5c5cc774644142f16c2960468d27a2
15:55:41 <torsh[m]> should be in this.
15:56:26 <nirik> torsh[m]: cool. I would expect that to land very soon in rawhide. If it doesn't in the next few days let me know and I can poke folks.
15:56:26 <torsh[m]> `!2120 gdbusobjectmanagerclient: Call GetManagedObjects async`
15:56:37 <yoda[m]> It is made as plasma-mobile - but the plasma-mobile package is missing. Only packages from isse 10 is included
15:56:37 <torsh[m]> Thanks nirik!
15:57:19 <OnuralpSezer[m]> .yoda: I'll add all okay thank you.
15:57:48 <nirik> once things are in also you probibly want a comps group to make it easy to install it.
15:58:01 <OnuralpSezer[m]> yes
15:59:10 <nirik> cool.
15:59:38 <nirik> #topic fedora mainline plans
15:59:58 <nirik> I'll try a rawhide again this week and see if anything started magically working...
16:00:07 <nirik> failing that we are still in our normal holding pattern.
16:00:16 <nirik> any other upstream news/issues?
16:00:55 <torsh[m]> Just the usual package updates. Nothing earth shattering just yet there.
16:01:49 <nirik> #topic Open Floor
16:01:56 <nirik> any other things to discuss/bring up?
16:02:44 <torsh[m]> I haven't updated the megi kernel in a while, but I always get nervous doing that since I'm still not 100% confident I know how it is all working.
16:03:31 <torsh[m]> I'd like to get the 5.14 kernel going, but (I know I asked already but I forget) does that require a new boot package as well?
16:03:35 <nirik> I wonder if there's any other newer phone hardware that might be supported we could try and target... but I never manage to find anything. :(
16:03:51 <nirik> it shouldn't I would not think...
16:03:55 <torsh[m]> I've been half watching the oneplus 6
16:04:21 <torsh[m]> > it shouldn't I would not think...
16:04:21 <torsh[m]> Ok, cool, I'll give that a try this week then. (kernel 5.14)
16:04:21 <OnuralpSezer[m]> most of them has "blobs" finding real open is kinda hard
16:05:03 <nirik> yeah. Or are locked. Or need special bootloaders.
16:05:15 <nirik> yeah, the oneplus 6 looked interesting...
16:05:22 <nirik> see https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/OnePlus_6_(oneplus-enchilada)
16:05:32 <torsh[m]> ^ yes
16:05:33 <OnuralpSezer[m]> even postmarketOS phones list show that too...
16:06:15 * nirik nods sadly.
16:06:25 <nirik> ok, if nothing else can close out in a minute...
16:07:15 <torsh[m]> Sounds good. Thanks again nirik!
16:07:31 <OnuralpSezer[m]> Thank you nirik
16:08:01 <nirik> thanks for coming everyone!
