17:03:26 <zodbot> Current chairs: dustymabe jbrooks miabbott roshi trishnag
17:03:33 <roshi> glad to know you exist dustymabe
17:03:35 <dustymabe> did I miss anyone ?
17:03:40 <miabbott> .hello miabbott
17:03:41 <zodbot> miabbott: miabbott 'Micah Abbott' <miabbott@redhat.com>
17:03:41 <roshi> I was growing concerned that I was imagining you
17:03:54 <miabbott> ok, dustymabe, i'll hang out
17:03:59 <trishnag> dustymabe: I guess not.
17:04:05 <dustymabe> welcome!
17:04:18 <dustymabe> so we don't have a lot of people here today
17:04:22 <sayan> .hello sayanchowdhury
17:04:23 <zodbot> sayan: sayanchowdhury 'Sayan Chowdhury' <sayan.chowdhury2012@gmail.com>
17:05:16 <dustymabe> I think we'll skip meeting items for today and open it up for discussions / open floor
17:05:21 <dustymabe> any objections?
17:05:34 <jbrooks> sounds good
17:05:44 <trishnag> +1
17:05:48 <dustymabe> #topic openfloor
17:06:00 <dustymabe> anyone with any items for open floor?
17:06:36 <roshi> nothing really
17:06:40 * trishnag has nothing from her side.
17:06:49 <sayan> nothing from my side
17:06:54 <roshi> just going to be pestering people with docker and atomic questions as I move stuff to it
17:07:04 <roshi> in an attempt to be better at testing them
17:07:04 <dustymabe> roshi: pester away
17:07:13 <dustymabe> roshi: that's the only way to get better
17:07:21 <trishnag> I'm waiting for the FAD that we will be having.
17:07:28 <dustymabe> do you know how many people i owe beer at this point?
17:07:42 <roshi> should probably keep a counter :p
17:07:46 <dustymabe> haha indeed
17:07:53 <dustymabe> ok so I have an open floor item
17:07:55 * roshi doesn't keep a counter for *exactly* that reason :p
17:08:12 <dustymabe> we had a lot of discussions around devconf about Atomic Host
17:08:41 <miabbott> it's going to rule the world one of these days
17:08:43 <miabbott> allegedly
17:08:45 <dustymabe> in short we basically want to start integrating Atomic Host with the rest of the Fedora ecosystem more - making sure we get more testing in atomic host and on atomic host
17:09:08 <dustymabe> the word "CI" was thrown around a lot
17:09:11 <dustymabe> :)
17:09:13 <miabbott> a lot
17:09:27 <dustymabe> i feel like CI and devops are similar in that it means different things to different people
17:09:33 <dustymabe> don't quote me on that
17:09:49 <roshi> I feel the same way - there's a lot of equivocation when it comes to all those terms
17:09:58 <dustymabe> however, what it does mean is that we have interest from the rest of Fedora to help us add what we need to make our testing better
17:10:24 <roshi> (heck, even talking about *systems* do you mean a base install of foo or one with a bunch of add-ons? for example)
17:10:35 <dustymabe> roshi: :)
17:11:01 <dustymabe> so good news! we should have more efforts to help us do this
17:11:07 <dustymabe> and atomic will become more stable as a result!
17:11:11 <trishnag> Yeah here is the plan on Atomic host with Fedora discussed https://public.etherpad-mozilla.org/p/fedorabrno2017 :)
17:11:27 <roshi> was there actual hands raised or was it a "Yeah, I support that idea." kind of thing?
17:11:31 <trishnag> For Atomic host we should check the point *e*
17:11:53 <dustymabe> #info there is interest and enthusiasm from the rest of the Fedora community to help automate testing around Atomic Host
17:12:21 <dustymabe> roshi: from the people I talked to it seemed to be genuine interest
17:12:39 <dustymabe> trishnag: thanks for sharing the link
17:12:44 <roshi> ok, cool
17:12:59 <dustymabe> #info link to Fedora team meeting in Brno: https://public.etherpad-mozilla.org/p/fedorabrno2017
17:13:14 <trishnag> dustymabe: No problem!
17:13:49 <dustymabe> if anyone doesn't know miabbott you should say hi to him - he does a lot of internal testing on Atomic Host and is on my team within Red hat
17:13:59 * miabbott waves
17:14:05 <dustymabe> I've been telling my team that the cool kids hang out here so he has joined us
17:14:14 <trishnag> miabbott: hi
17:14:21 <miabbott> i recognize a lot of the nicks here from all my lurking
17:14:25 <roshi> lol
17:14:36 <dustymabe> I've already seen roshi and miabbott working together a little bit in the #fedora-cloud channel, which is awesome
17:14:39 * sayan waves back tomiabbott
17:14:46 <dustymabe> sayan++
17:14:46 <zodbot> dustymabe: Karma for sayanchowdhury changed to 10 (for the f25 release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
17:14:55 <dustymabe> miabbott++
17:14:55 <roshi> more to come
17:15:00 <roshi> :)
17:15:19 <dustymabe> we can all learn from one another - and we'll make everyones lives easier too
17:15:19 <miabbott> yes, roshi is already keeping me honest with his questions
17:15:21 <rtnpro> .fas rtnpro
17:15:21 <zodbot> rtnpro: rtnpro 'Ratnadeep Debnath' <rtnpro@gmail.com>
17:15:24 <miabbott> it is a good thing :)
17:15:26 <dustymabe> rtnpro: yay!
17:15:48 <dustymabe> everyone meet rtnpro, he is fresh back from a marriage/honeymoon I believe
17:15:50 <dustymabe> congrats!
17:15:51 <rtnpro> dustymabe, Howdy
17:15:59 <trishnag> Finally we have rtnpro o/
17:16:00 <roshi> congrats :)
17:16:00 <rtnpro> yeah
17:16:07 <miabbott> whoo
17:16:08 <rtnpro> Thank you
17:16:38 <dustymabe> rtnpro: we were just discussing interest from the fedora community to do more testing on/in atomic host
17:16:50 <rtnpro> ok
17:16:51 <dustymabe> we'll probably get people coming to us with questions/guidance
17:17:04 <dustymabe> and we'll ultimately make atomic host more stable
17:17:04 <rtnpro> ok
17:17:29 <dustymabe> so that is all I had really for today - most people are out so we're just having a short meeting
17:17:56 <dustymabe> i should ask jbrooks - jbrooks, there were some tickets open for containerized kube
17:18:15 <dustymabe> did those get filled out so that we know the exact blockers we have for that work?
17:18:18 <jbrooks> dustymabe, yeah, I'm working on that right now, actually
17:18:19 <rtnpro> dustymabe, I'd like to take on some work related to kubernetes
17:18:28 <jbrooks> Um, I need to update them
17:18:35 <jbrooks> I'm working on the actual stuff
17:18:53 <rtnpro> dustymabe, this will align pretty well with my day job as well
17:19:02 <jbrooks> Basically, I'm blocked on the layered build service being able to release containers, which it wasn't last I checked
17:19:06 <dustymabe> rtnpro: want to get with jbrooks on the work he is doing?
17:19:08 <jbrooks> For now I'm using docker hub
17:19:11 <rtnpro> dustymabe, is there any task that I can pick up?
17:19:33 <rtnpro> dustymabe, that will be great :)
17:19:43 <jbrooks> And I have it almost all the way working w/ https://github.com/jasonbrooks/contrib/tree/atomic-update
17:19:54 <jbrooks> I'm just chasing down a flannel thing
17:20:04 <dustymabe> jbrooks: cool - is that information in the tickets?
17:20:12 <jbrooks> but it's flannel and etcd in system containers, and all of kube in docker
17:20:16 <jbrooks> No, I'll put it in
17:20:30 <jbrooks> But I'm right in the middle of debugging stuff
17:20:49 <dustymabe> sweet - so rtnpro, jbrooks is working on making it so we can run kube in containers on the host - not from rpms baked into the host
17:21:02 <dustymabe> he is pretty close but could use some help testing things out probably
17:21:16 <jbrooks> I'll update those tickets today
17:21:22 <jbrooks> And send a msg to the list
17:21:36 <dustymabe> thanks!
17:21:44 <rtnpro> jbrooks, dustymabe I will wait for update from jbrooks
17:21:44 <dustymabe> ok I promise i'm done
17:22:00 <rtnpro> also, fedora-motd is kind of stuck
17:22:03 <dustymabe> anything from anyone else? sayan, any burning questions? any blockers?
17:22:31 <rtnpro> I need help with it
17:23:04 <dustymabe> rtnpro: indeed
17:23:18 <rtnpro> walters had raised some issues, and I am not sure how best to work around them
17:23:33 <dustymabe> we probably need to review it again and get it into rawhide and play around with it
17:23:41 <rtnpro> yes
17:24:19 <dustymabe> rtnpro: yep. ping me about it again in a little while, need to settle from conference first
17:24:29 <rtnpro> I will drop a mail to the list describing the current architecture of it, issues raised by walters, and then we can discuss how to fix it
17:24:42 <rtnpro> ok
17:24:44 <dustymabe> k
17:24:49 <dustymabe> anyone else with items?
17:25:28 <dustymabe> sounds like a no
17:25:32 <dustymabe> closing meeting in a few
17:25:36 <dustymabe> 3...
17:25:37 <sayan> nope, I did a major refactor on fedimg. will be deploying that to fedimg-dev and test
17:25:49 <dustymabe> sayan +1
17:25:57 <sayan> ^^ would be doing that tomorrow
17:26:06 <dustymabe> hopefully we don't need a "bootstrap instance" any longer
17:26:23 <dustymabe> or maybe that is still in the works
17:26:27 <sayan> also writing 3-part blog post on how things work https://sayanchowdhury.dgplug.org/redesigning-fedimg-part-i/
17:26:37 <sayan> and how things are going to be refactored
17:26:42 <dustymabe> sayan: when you finish the series can you send it to the cloud list
17:26:46 <dustymabe> with links
17:26:56 <sayan> dustymabe: yes, that is instance is removed
17:26:57 <dustymabe> would be useful to link it to interested parties
17:26:59 <sayan> dustymabe: sure
17:27:03 <dustymabe> cool
17:27:05 <dustymabe> +1
17:27:12 <dustymabe> ok.. restarting countdown
17:27:14 <dustymabe> 2...
17:27:23 <dustymabe> 1....
17:27:27 <dustymabe> 0....
17:27:29 <dustymabe> :)
