17:49:12 <mizmo> Mockup request for IoT website
17:49:50 * sadin reads
17:49:51 <mizmo> well
17:50:05 <mizmo> getfedora.org needs a refresh anyway i think
17:50:06 <mizmo> so this is a good oppty
17:50:14 <mizmo> i guess we need a logo for it too, i vaguely recall someone working on one, maybe kyle?
17:50:37 <sadin> logo for IoT
17:50:38 <sadin> ?
17:51:40 <mizmo> yeh
17:51:54 <mizmo> https://pagure.io/design/issue/586

17:51:55 <mizmo> IoT Edition Artwork
17:52:10 <sadin> Someone started one I thought. Dont remember who claimed to be working on it
17:53:27 <sadin> I kind of like https://pagure.io/design/issue/raw/files/cb5449cc469e2948b4f7288abb959e1e736171f3ca4994349ce2c7557f340d14-IoT2matrix.png
17:53:31 <sadin> tbh
17:54:18 <mizmo> sadin: yep that's my favorite too, it matches the other edition logos best
17:54:32 <mizmo> im not sure about the color though
17:54:59 <mizmo> robyduck are you around?
17:55:20 <mizmo> robyduck wondering how game you are for a visual refresh of getfedora.org with the intro of IoT edition
17:56:13 <sadin> ping me about this refresh id like to help out
17:56:21 * sadin needs to step out of cube for a sec
17:56:34 <K_REY_C[m]> Howdy, mid-work day. On lunch
17:58:03 <mizmo> sounds good sadin
17:58:03 <mizmo> hey K_REY_C
17:58:23 <mizmo> im using a matrix client that gives me no user list :( (nheko)
17:58:35 <mizmo> did you see the comments on the IoT logo?
17:58:35 <K_REY_C[m]> @freenode_mizmo[m]:matrix.org: Right -- I thought it needed to be visually reminiscent of the others. But, now that server is different maybe you can further modify.
17:59:10 <K_REY_C[m]> Above in this chain or in pagure? (Sorry, just hopped on during lunch).
17:59:23 <mizmo> im doing a little bit of research and it looks like this one does hit the mark in terms of what other IoT logos / products conceptualize: https://pagure.io/design/issue/raw/files/cb5449cc469e2948b4f7288abb959e1e736171f3ca4994349ce2c7557f340d14-IoT2matrix.png
17:59:37 * sadin returns
17:59:43 <mizmo> K_REY_C oh in pagure, my two concerns are fitting with the other edition logos and making sure the concept makes sense
18:00:24 <sadin> That version represents it well imo
18:00:31 <mizmo> are we dropping atomic edition too? so many questions
18:00:48 <K_REY_C[m]> Perfect. Just looked. I agree -- the only thought I had was who this should appeal to. From an end-user standpoint it might be nice to show some of the things (a FLOSS echo, a router, etc.) ... but simple is better I think.
18:01:23 <mizmo> yeh we have to keep it very abstract to match the fedora edition logo system i think
18:01:31 <sadin> It could some how resemble an ARM chip
18:01:37 <mizmo> we can show some of the things on the webpage illustrations for it
18:02:52 <K_REY_C[m]> Nope. Sounds good. Any further steps here? I mocked it up quickly and never pulled down the original SVGs for workstation or server (upon which they are based). Should I go through and upload a solid SVG? (Also, are we all okay with pink-ish for color?)
18:04:12 <mizmo> K_REY_C i'm not totally sold on the pink, but i think the shape is pretty good. is there an svg on the ticket of it right now?
18:04:16 <mizmo> i can do the finalization work if you want, i am working on the website mockup anyway
18:05:12 <K_REY_C[m]> Just png i think. I'm fine if you finalize if you've got the graphics handy (I don't yet).
18:06:27 <mizmo> K_REY_C if you have an SVG and can upload it that'd be helpful, if not, it wouldn't be too hard for me to recreate
18:07:01 <K_REY_C[m]> I'll upload the SVG tonight when I'm back home.
18:07:30 <K_REY_C[m]> roughly 6pm central time
18:10:40 <mizmo> sounds great K_REY_C :)

18:18:14 <mizmo> Mindshare Committee logo design
18:18:44 <mizmo> ooh @mleonova made some nice candidates for this one, lets take a look
18:19:25 <mizmo> anybody have thoughts here? it looks like you posted your feedback k_rey_c thank you for that :)
18:20:06 <K_REY_C[m]> Welcome
18:21:40 <sadin> looking
18:22:19 <mizmo> im thinking a mashup of 1 and 3
18:22:24 <mizmo> make the speech bubbles brain speech bubbles
18:22:29 <mizmo> is that too gross?
18:22:36 <sadin> No
18:22:38 <sadin> but
18:22:52 <sadin> I didnt think they were brains till you said something
18:23:10 <sadin> I was going to say 1 already does a great job
18:23:32 <sadin> speech bubble/speaking ones mind/mindshare
18:24:26 <sadin> Could get confused with just a simple chat
18:25:48 <sadin> I do like them being "thought bubbles"
18:25:53 <sadin> :)
18:27:22 <mizmo> im trying to brainstorm more ideas for her
18:27:38 <mizmo> this is what i have so far
18:27:38 * mizmo sent a long message: mizmo_2018-05-08_18:27:37.txt <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/CZMnXvTxMiRGvFKgndkzUHjq>
18:28:03 <sadin> mizmo "brains as the main part of the logo, large, but divide the brain into colored zones, or have little colored filled circles highlighting different areas of the brain and show them interconnected" yes
18:31:02 * sadin runs out of cube, manager calling
18:31:03 <K_REY_C[m]> Dividing a single brain is interesting (would love to see it!). My fear is that it loses the visceral connection of multiple entities in collaboration (though I might be missing the point).
18:31:45 <sadin> Maybe portray the areas of division as interlocking like a puzzle piece
18:31:57 <sadin> different colored sections of brain interlocked
18:32:03 <sadin> F logo in center?
18:32:15 * sadin steps out
18:33:09 <K_REY_C[m]> sadin: Right. You know, I just had an image flash in my mind (perhaps too simple) of a venn diagram (four colors, simple circles, overlapping to a white center with the fedora logo inside).
18:34:00 <K_REY_C[m]> It's overly simple. Potentially it keeps the multiple colors in #3, the overlap in #1 (but misses the brain entirely, sadly).
18:35:11 <sadin> K_REY_C[m]: ven diagram would be awesome, which is already sort of happening in #1
18:35:32 <sadin> Unless a brain ven diagram was done, but that might be too loud
18:36:48 <K_REY_C[m]> Right. I think that's what you were getting at too with the overlapping brains. That's my favorite aspect of #1 (overlap and integration is different conceptually than interlocking because there's *blend*)
18:37:05 <sadin> Yeah
18:37:12 <sadin> Or thought bubbles
18:37:18 <sadin> I like the idea of thought bubbles
18:37:22 <sadin> overlapping
18:37:41 <sadin> if were sharing minds here, maybe less literal brains
18:38:59 <mizmo> all right
18:39:08 <mizmo> yeh
18:39:09 <sadin> mizmo++
18:39:09 <zodbot> sadin: Karma for duffy changed to 1 (for the f28 release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
18:39:11 <mizmo> maybe it needs more of a share concept
18:39:16 <mizmo> the share icon is a weird triangle thing with nodes right
18:40:00 <sadin> https://png.icons8.com/metro/1600/share.png
18:40:00 <fm-design> meetbot.meeting.item.link -- sadin linked to more information in the "design-team" meeting in #fedora-design: "https://png.icons8.com/metro/1600/share.png"
18:40:07 <sadin> yes
18:40:13 <sadin> kind of like a network node plot
18:40:38 <mizmo> okay
18:40:41 <mizmo> and its been just about an hour now so im going call the meeting
18:40:43 <mizmo> unless anyone has anything else they'd like to bring up
18:41:19 <sadin> Im ok
18:41:55 <K_REY_C[m]> Nope. Glad I made it for part of this one. Thanks for having me.
18:42:14 <sadin> K_REY_C[m]: nice talking to you kyle!
18:42:34 <mizmo> glad to have you K_REY_C :)
