06:06:36 <tagoh_> time to have i18n meeting
06:06:38 <mfabian> Hi!
06:06:39 <paragan> Hi
06:06:45 <fujiwarat> hi
06:07:15 <epico> hi
06:07:34 <dueno> hi
06:08:05 <anish__> HI
06:08:19 <juhp> hi
06:08:34 <tagoh_> okay, let's get started then
06:08:43 <tagoh_> #topic Upcoming schedule
06:08:49 <skore> hi
06:09:03 <tagoh_> no schedule we can share at this moment
06:10:12 <juhp> seems WG PRD submission deadline is beginning of next week
06:10:12 <tagoh_> that said changes process is open. if you are planning to propose anything, good to make it public earlier and get feedbacks on the list.
06:10:22 <lijli> hi
06:10:27 <tagoh_> juhp: aha
06:11:10 <juhp> perhaps we need to think about any impact of new Fedora Products in terms of i18n
06:11:48 <tagoh_> sure
06:11:49 <juhp> though I guess Workstation may remain the primary concern for now perhaps
06:13:03 <tagoh_> juhp: do you think that will affects our workflow and workload in the future?
06:13:50 <juhp> I don't really know - perhaps in long term?
06:13:54 <tagoh_> maybe good to share any concerns in your mind if you have
06:14:09 <juhp> I think it may change over time possibly
06:14:17 <juhp> no real immediate concerns :)
06:14:22 <tagoh_> okay
06:14:40 <juhp> just mention about the PRDs more in terms of the schedule "delay"
06:16:28 <tagoh_> I see
06:17:10 <tagoh_> okay, let's move on
06:17:13 <tagoh_> #topic Outstanding topics
06:17:13 <tagoh_> #info #29: Fedora 18 bugs cleanup (tagoh)
06:17:14 <tagoh_> #link https://fedorahosted.org/i18n/ticket/29
06:17:56 <tagoh_> f18 EOL has been announced. though apparently no automated bug closing isn't yet running.
06:18:29 <tagoh_> so we may still have a time to triage 24 bugs open on f18 if you didn't have a time to do so
06:19:23 <tagoh_> bugs list link is in the agenda page
06:20:52 <tagoh_> shall we go through bz one by one here or take a look after the meeting?
06:21:40 <juhp> btw do that ibus bug still apply for f19+?
06:21:43 <juhp> does
06:22:00 <juhp> .bug 847565
06:22:06 <zodbot> juhp: Bug 847565 Very slow response or frozen input when input is switched to use other input methods (e.g. Chinese, pinyin) - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847565
06:22:23 <pravins> hi
06:22:26 <juhp> I forgot if it is gnome specific now?
06:23:04 <tagoh_> that looks to me like better at f20 GNOME at least.
06:23:47 <tagoh_> not checked on other desktops
06:24:29 <juhp> aha
06:24:38 <fujiwarat> I cannot reproduce that bug.
06:24:45 <juhp> maybe someone should test f19
06:25:01 <juhp> so it might be fixed then?
06:25:28 <tagoh_> likely
06:26:06 <juhp> ok that's encouraging
06:26:58 <tagoh_> need to test with other engines too
06:27:49 <fujiwarat> It's ok to close with f18. Maybe configuration issue.
06:28:02 <tagoh_> anyone has tested the keyboard settings things? there seems some bugs related to the keyboard
06:31:12 <tagoh_> fujiwarat: not sure but it may be just hard to reproduce it since hotkey has been changed to super+space perhaps. there should be obvious delay to start typing in the motion to move from super to any other modifiers. it could be still there if hotkey is changed back to ctrl+space or so. dunno. just a guess
06:32:26 <fujiwarat> tagoh_: that bug does not happen when .files are cleaned. I don't think your mention is that bug.
06:32:36 <tagoh_> if it's worth trying, will do. current hotkey works for me though
06:33:01 * juhp closed two more
06:33:10 <fujiwarat> tagoh_: File another bug if you see anything.
06:33:55 <juhp> .bug 920025
06:33:59 <zodbot> juhp: Bug 920025 [abrt] system-config-language-1.3.5-19.fc18: tui_install.py:395:is_group_installed:GroupsError: No Group named spanish-support exists - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=920025
06:34:14 <juhp> paragan, this ^ is in POST - do you want to move it?
06:34:23 <tagoh_> fujiwarat: is it? I may be confusing with other bug then. thought we had slow response bug on switching and it was that.
06:35:14 <juhp> me too
06:35:26 <paragan> waiting for translations
06:35:36 <juhp> paragan, for f18? :)
06:35:37 <paragan> to have complete tarball release
06:35:49 <paragan> ok I can patch then
06:35:57 <juhp> too late
06:36:11 <juhp> paragan, move means move to f19+ :)
06:36:22 <paragan> ah right its EOL now
06:36:24 <anish__> juhp, i think this is no longer exists
06:36:32 <juhp> ?
06:36:38 <juhp> oh
06:36:48 <tagoh_> let's close it then
06:36:50 <juhp> anish__, you read the comments?
06:37:11 <juhp> paragan, anyway can you update the bug please
06:37:12 <anish__> yeah let me try it again
06:37:19 <paragan> juhp, ok
06:37:26 <juhp> thanks guys
06:38:51 <tagoh_> .bug 821221
06:38:56 <tagoh_> need to check this on kde
06:38:58 <zodbot> tagoh_: Bug 821221 ibus-setup language selection entries shadowed out - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=821221
06:39:14 <tagoh_> anyone tried?
06:41:35 <mfabian> trying now ...
06:42:14 <juhp> paragan, I moved it now to f19...
06:42:25 <paragan> thanks
06:43:34 <fujiwarat> I think the bug still exists but not sure if KDE people wish to fix it.
06:43:40 <anish__> juhp, 920025 no longer exists on F20 just tested
06:45:06 <juhp> .bug 920025
06:45:10 <zodbot> juhp: Bug 920025 [abrt] system-config-language-1.3.5-19.fc18: tui_install.py:395:is_group_installed:GroupsError: No Group named spanish-support exists - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=920025
06:45:16 <juhp> good
06:45:21 <juhp> anish__, how about f19?
06:45:47 <juhp> paragan, I put the fontmatrix in needinfo for you
06:45:50 <juhp> bug
06:47:44 <anish__> juhp, don't think with latest s-c-l it would be reproducible on F19 as well
06:48:22 <mfabian> .bug 874233
06:48:25 <zodbot> mfabian: Bug 874233 [sr@latin] Cyrillic script displayed instead of Latin script in some places - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=874233
06:48:26 <mfabian> still exists
06:48:27 <juhp> anish__, okay - it is good to mention the build you tested too
06:48:48 <mfabian> Made it a duplicate of
06:48:53 <mfabian> .bug 1024667
06:48:53 <juhp> thanks
06:48:57 <zodbot> mfabian: Bug 1024667 Switching translations for Serbian in Cyrillic and Serbian in Latin doesn’t seem to work on the welcome page - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1024667
06:49:53 * tagoh_ moved one
06:50:54 <juhp> anish__, you tested cli?
06:51:01 <juhp> commandline I mean
06:51:53 <tagoh_> mfabian: dunno what's correct locale name but there are two directories under /usr/share/locale, sr@Latn and sr@latin. sr@latin may be worked around one
06:52:25 <mfabian> It is a python bug.
06:52:55 <tagoh_> not a python specific
06:52:58 <tagoh_> .bug 871916
06:53:02 <zodbot> tagoh_: Bug 871916 [sr_RS.UTF-8@latin] user directories created with Cyrillic, not Latin, characters - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=871916
06:53:30 <anish__> juhp, yeah i did test command line as well
06:53:32 <mfabian> tagoh_: I debugged it carefully with Vratislav a while ago and even made a patch for Python. Then I found that it had been reported for python years ago and somebody else had also made a patch, but it is still not fixed.
06:53:39 <juhp> anish__, thakns
06:54:03 <mfabian> tagoh_: checking whether 871916 still exists ...
06:54:29 <mfabian> sr@Latn is wrong by the way.
06:54:37 <tagoh_> mfabian: it was f18 bug and tested on f20
06:56:35 <tagoh_> I can see those .mo files under sr@Latn on my laptop: gnome-pilot.mo kexec-tools.mo libgda-5.0.mo planner.mo xdg-user-dirs.mo
06:56:44 <tagoh_> there may be more in other packages
06:57:23 <tagoh_> if it's wrong, we should file a bug for packages then?
06:57:41 <mfabian> tagoh_: I think this needs to be fixed because the glibc locale is sr_RS.utf8@latin or sr_RS@latin
06:58:00 <mfabian> So how should gettext ever find the sr@Latn directory?
06:58:27 <mfabian> ("Latn" is the CLDR/libicu way of spelling the script)
06:58:54 <mfabian> I’ll test whether it really does not work (as I expect) and then file a bug.
06:59:21 <tagoh_> mfabian: okay, thanks
07:02:14 <tagoh_> anything else we want to take a look here?
07:06:32 <tagoh_> okay, let's move on then
07:06:41 <tagoh_> #topic Open Floor
07:07:17 <tagoh_> less time to keep the meeting running. guess no updates on other topics at this moment. so let's just skip it.
07:07:31 <tagoh_> anything else we want to discuss before stop the meeting?
07:08:07 <fujiwarat> ibus 1.5.5 is available in fedora.
07:08:20 <tagoh_> rawhide?
07:08:45 <fujiwarat> f19 or later.
07:09:01 <juhp> oh!
07:09:17 <juhp> cool
07:09:37 <pravins> tagoh_: i am going to introduce two new packages in f21 for lohit lohit-odia-fonts (for lohit-oriya) and lohit-gurumukhi-fonts (for lohit-punjabi)
07:09:56 <juhp> fujiwarat, in testing?
07:10:05 <pravins> for this change we need to update anaconda (for default installation package) also libreoffice langpacks need these package
07:10:09 <fujiwarat> juhp: Yes :).
07:10:16 * juhp is installing
07:10:31 <pravins> should we propose this as a change proposal in F21?
07:10:32 <tagoh_> pravins: cool
07:10:49 <pravins> i think good to have it as a proposed change in f21, what do you think?
07:10:58 <tagoh_> pravins: what's the visible changes for them?
07:11:20 <pravins> by visible you menas? in GUI?
07:11:27 <tagoh_> by users
07:11:41 <pravins> users will see different font names in editors
07:11:54 <pravins> instead of Lohit Oriya -> Odia
07:11:58 <tagoh_> ah right
07:12:08 <pravins> and instead Lohit Punjabi -> Gurumukhi
07:12:27 <tagoh_> yes sounds good. +1
07:12:40 <pravins> though this is minor change but i think users should get aware regarding this change, also i wish other distros should also sync with this change in later on
07:13:27 <pravins> thanks, i will prepare required wikis then
07:13:39 <pravins> done with my query. :)
07:14:17 <tagoh_> yep, thanks
07:14:21 <tagoh_> anything else?
07:14:35 <tagoh_> if not, let's close the meeting shortly
07:16:20 <tagoh_> alright, thanks everyone for the meeting!
07:16:25 <tagoh_> #endmeeting
