18:00:05 <nirik> #meetingname irc-support-sig
18:00:05 <nirik> #topic init process
18:00:05 <zodbot> The meeting name has been set to 'irc-support-sig'
18:00:16 <nirik> who all is around for an irc support sig meeting?
18:00:24 * DiscordianUK is
18:00:58 * fenrus02 waves from the back row
18:01:04 * N3LRX
18:02:14 * Southern_Gentlem
18:02:32 * Sonar_Gal
18:02:57 <nirik> ok, lets go ahead and start in
18:03:05 <nirik> #topic Week in review
18:03:24 <nirik> anyone have items from the previous week(s)? trends to note or common problems, etc?
18:04:14 <DiscordianUK> Just people slow to migrate from EOL releases
18:04:18 <nirik> Only sort of common thing I've seen recently is there was a issue with nvidia binary only non free packages from rpmfusion that was causing some upgrade problems for people for a while.
18:04:28 <underscores> hm #fedora-kde received some evil words from a guy that wasn't registrated on freenode and couldn't make his scaner work properly
18:04:29 <nirik> I think it's fixed now, but I don't use them, so not sure.
18:04:45 <nirik> underscores: sorry to hear it.
18:04:51 <DiscordianUK> I just have intel video
18:04:51 <Southern_Gentlem> nirik, yes fixed tuesday
18:04:58 <fenrus02> underscores, he file a bug report?
18:05:33 <underscores> fenrus02: I'm not sure if he knew what that is, tried to help him but he was too fast with "fedora sucks, nothing works here" stuff and dissapeared
18:05:34 <fenrus02> underscores, if he's not willing to register and join #fedora - filing a bug report is likely the best option
18:05:50 <fenrus02> underscores, ah. well, you cannot win them all. _shrugs_
18:05:55 <nirik> there's also mailing lists and forums and ask to point people at if they don't like irc.
18:06:02 <underscores> ok
18:06:05 <underscores> I will remember that
18:07:32 <nirik> ok, anything else for review, or shall we move on?
18:08:12 <nirik> ok, on to tickets we have one new one:
18:08:15 <nirik> #topic ticket #154 Quieted for non-abrasive comment
18:08:34 <nirik> IMHO, nothing to do here. It was just a quiet for a short time as the channel heat was rising.
18:08:58 <DiscordianUK> i've read the excerpts in the ticket and the quiet was deserved
18:09:04 <nirik> https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/ticket/154
18:10:36 <nirik> any other feedback on this one?
18:10:42 <underscores> nirik: I don't understand the point
18:10:47 <EvilBob> Sorry I disconnected because of a phone call
18:10:52 <nirik> of the ticket? or ?
18:11:03 <underscores> nirik: yes what was the problem? that he got thrown out?
18:11:16 <nirik> not even, simply quieted for 15minutes.
18:11:23 <fenrus02> non-issue really
18:11:30 <nirik> right.
18:11:37 <underscores> ok
18:11:42 <fenrus02> he seems a bit trigger happy with tickets.
18:11:45 <fenrus02> attention seeker?
18:11:50 <EvilBob> quieted becuse I was dealing with an issue and the added noise was not needed.
18:12:20 <nirik> well, I have a theory... which is the next topic. ;)
18:12:25 <nirik> if we are done with this one/
18:12:25 <nirik> ?
18:12:26 <EvilBob> I muted the noise maker so the situation could be handled
18:12:52 <Sonar_Gal> Which was the correct thing to do.
18:13:05 <DiscordianUK> +1
18:13:12 <Sonar_Gal> Looks like a non-issue that was handled correctly and should be passed on
18:13:30 * nirik nods.
18:13:41 <nirik> #topic Change default quiet message
18:13:46 <EvilBob> Any questions for me about why I did it?
18:13:54 <nirik> So, I have seen we have gotten several tickets lately from simple 15m quiets.
18:14:06 <EvilBob> I think I'm still lagging from the disconnect
18:14:07 <nirik> I think this is because the quiet message tells them to file a ticket.
18:14:20 <nirik> EvilBob: I don't have any questions about that.
18:14:21 <fenrus02> EvilBob, nobody has asked or implied they had questions on your action
18:14:37 <nirik> so, I think we should change the default quiet message to drop the ticket thing.
18:14:55 <Sonar_Gal> +1
18:14:56 <nirik> because really, you should never need to file a ticket about a single quiet. It's just 15minutes. Come on.
18:15:04 <fenrus02> nirik, works for me. might want to post here for reference. more fitting for a /kick message imho
18:15:05 <EvilBob> nirik: +1
18:15:07 <DiscordianUK> +1
18:15:13 <N3LRX> I'm ok with that. +1
18:15:15 <nirik> currently we have:
18:15:30 <nirik> You have been quieted in this channel for 15 minutes. Please read the FAQ in the channel topic and consider changing your approach and/or the behavior that is disrupting the channel. If you feel this action was in error, please file a ticket at https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/)
18:15:55 <nirik> I'm ok with just dropping the last sentence, or changing it to note that they should take a break
18:16:03 <Southern_Gentlem> drop
18:16:18 <Southern_Gentlem> +1
18:16:33 <EvilBob> nirik: I liked the new version you posted in discussion yesterday
18:16:43 * nirik looks for it.
18:17:01 <nirik> You have been quieted in this channel for 15 minutes. Please read the FAQ in the channel topic and consider changing your approach and/or the behavior that is disrupting the channel. Take a break and consider things.
18:17:04 <EvilBob> Yup
18:17:07 <Sonar_Gal> yes
18:17:08 <fenrus02> +1
18:17:11 <DiscordianUK> +1 to that
18:17:12 <EvilBob> +1
18:17:13 <nirik> it's a bit vuage... but ok.
18:17:15 <Sonar_Gal> +1
18:17:15 <N3LRX> +1
18:17:22 <Southern_Gentlem> +1
18:17:30 <DiscordianUK> I think it's fine
18:17:36 <nirik> alright.
18:17:41 <nirik> we can always adjust it more.
18:17:47 <nirik> #topic Open Floor
18:17:51 <nirik> anyone have items for open floor?
18:18:01 <N3LRX> I have one issue for open floor.
18:18:21 <Southern_Gentlem> #154 that person seems to have an issue anytime a op steps in , they want to start an arguement
18:18:37 <nirik> N3LRX: fire away
18:18:49 <N3LRX> On the #fedora-social FAQ there is a rule about going there to complain about your kick/ban/quiet in #fedora. But there is no such rule on the #fedora FAQ, shouldn't there be one? I noticed this after our little incident with burble the other night. He went running to #fedora to taddle on Bob.
18:19:18 <nirik> yeah, we should add that, IMHO. Point them to a ticket for such issues
18:19:31 <EvilBob> N3LRX: +1 for adding it to the #fedora FAQ
18:20:01 <Southern_Gentlem> at one time there was a statement in the Fedora FAQ about leave stuff from other channel in those channels
18:20:22 <fenrus02> channel hopping to complain is like a tot asking mom first, then asking dad when they dont get the answer they like
18:20:49 <EvilBob> fenrus02: +1
18:21:02 <nirik> yep
18:21:07 * nirik is +1 for adding it
18:21:11 <Sonar_Gal> +1
18:21:16 <DiscordianUK> +1
18:22:23 <N3LRX> OK, I'll get that added this afternoon. I'll forward them to file a ticket or keep it in channel.
18:22:26 <nirik> cool. thanks for bringing that up N3LRX.
18:22:33 <nirik> anything else?
18:23:06 <fenrus02> ta N3LRX
18:23:12 * nirik will close out the meeting in a minute if nothing further.
18:24:47 <nirik> Thanks for coming everyone!
18:24:50 <nirik> #endmeeting
