20:03:17 <suehle> #meetingname Fedora marketing
20:03:17 <zodbot> The meeting name has been set to 'fedora_marketing'
20:03:21 <suehle> #topic roll call
20:03:59 <suehle> Gonna be one of those meetings.
20:04:07 * suehle tries to summon graphite6
20:04:09 <AnnaE> hey -- Anna's up in here
20:04:31 <AnnaE> This is actually very convenient, as someone from the events team put something on my calendar for next week about what the Fedora team would like to see at our area @ Summit
20:04:43 * jbrooks here
20:05:42 <suehle> Yeah, I was just replying to Kristin. We have poor schedule alignment. :D
20:05:50 <suehle> So we're tlaking about maybe meeting in the evening one night next week.
20:06:58 <AnnaE> ah excellent -- I can go to both if you want -- esp to make sure we get as much stuff there as we need
20:07:48 <suehle> It might be the same meeting? You're on the invite.
20:08:16 <AnnaE> The one on 2/12 at 3:00?
20:08:56 <suehle> Yup
20:09:09 <suehle> But I'll be in training then, so I asked Kristin if we could move it.
20:09:26 <AnnaE> ahhh alright - I'll keep an eye out for when she moves it
20:09:55 <AnnaE> Is Summit ever a good place to "recruit" people to join/contribute to the project, or no since it's such a corporate atmosphere?
20:10:22 <suehle> I don't know that we get a lot of new contributors. A few questions about what the relationship is between Fedora and RHEL, but mostly people who are already on board.
20:10:43 <AnnaE> cool alright
20:11:26 <suehle> Well, I guess this meeting's a bust.
20:11:34 <AnnaE> I can't remember a lot of the stuff that was at the Fedora corner from last year other than the Beefy cutout, but are there any sort of "activities" we like to put out for people so they have something to touch whenthey get to the booth?
20:11:57 <suehle> Last year we had the Pi out, which people liked seeing because they were still like unicorns.
20:12:06 <AnnaE> nice
20:12:10 <suehle> We could definitely whip it out again, preferably with a better project, which we should have a few of by then.
20:12:18 <AnnaE> we need to get that person who had the little blinky light on his @ Fudcon
20:12:23 <suehle> Mostly people come looking for their USB sticks
20:12:36 <suehle> oh, the flashing Pi thing... I don't remember who that was.
20:13:16 <AnnaE> yeah it's like if we could have the Pi hooked up to something doing something interesting
20:13:34 <suehle> We've got a few of those... the easiest is the NES emulator
20:13:48 * AnnaE looks it up
20:13:53 <suehle> Nintendo
20:13:53 <AnnaE> !!Nintendo!!
20:13:57 <suehle> It makes it play old Nintendo games.
20:14:09 <AnnaE> that would be very cool
20:15:01 <AnnaE> Do we get to choose the food that's around our section like the hot dogs were last summer?
20:15:11 <suehle> I think that was the first time we did food.
20:15:48 <AnnaE> I feel like it was a crowd pleaser :)
20:16:24 <suehle> It was ridonkulously expensive though
20:16:43 <suehle> I heard there was discussion about having a community area this year? I emailed Jen and Mary Catherine about it this morning.
20:16:49 * AnnaE wonders if there is non perishable food we can buy in bulk
20:16:53 <AnnaE> yeah that's been thrown around
20:16:56 <suehle> I suspect the Hynes won't let you
20:17:15 <AnnaE> so I had been keeping my ears open for that
20:17:17 <suehle> I can't imagine anyone would ever pay their prices if they let you bring in your own food.
20:17:28 <AnnaE> because I wanted to make sure they weren't going to try and push us back into some random area
20:17:50 <AnnaE> I'm pretty sure Fedora is still getting its own space, and they're putting storage and openshift and some of the other communities into this "community area" that has been discussed
20:18:53 <suehle> I don't mine being in there--in fact, I think I'd almost prefer it, unless it's really totally hidden.
20:19:34 <suehle> s/mine/mind
20:19:57 <AnnaE> ooh! ok -- I bet that by the time we have that meeting, they would have a better idea of what the community area was actually going to look like
20:20:22 <AnnaE> that could also be better than being in that random corner on the third floor of the hynes - more foot traffic if there are more communities in there
20:20:33 <suehle> yeah, nobody could find us... I could barely find us
20:21:59 <AnnaE> so this could be good :)
20:23:01 <AnnaE> I wonder -- would it be useful to develop like a one pager with some graphics about the inheritance relationship between rhel and fedora in case people come to the booth and have questions about it?
20:23:12 <AnnaE> I figured since we have a while until Summit to come up with it
20:23:22 <suehle> I think that exists on redhat.com
20:23:33 <suehle> It definitely does for jboss community/jboss
20:23:41 <AnnaE> cool I'll poke around for it
20:25:06 <suehle> OK, well I'll take whatever else I had for today to the list then.
20:25:12 <suehle> Enjoy having your half hour back! :)
