18:05:59 <fugolini> #topic 1) Budget
18:06:26 <fugolini> I wanted to know the general budget situation. spevack are you here?
18:06:26 * ke4qqq is here
18:06:56 * RodrigoPadula is here
18:07:34 <fugolini> Ok, the next issue from a Budget POV is Release Events budget availiability. I want to give some informations about this crucial thing to Release Events owner.
18:07:43 <RodrigoPadula> about Budget, I get US$10K with my manager to use in all latam in Q3 anda Q4
18:07:53 <fugolini> just wait
18:07:56 <fugolini> and call !
18:08:01 <fugolini> please
18:08:01 <RodrigoPadula> sorry
18:08:21 <RodrigoPadula> !
18:08:23 <fugolini> no problem, it's just for a meeting log clarity
18:08:25 <spevack> I'm here
18:08:36 <fugolini> RodrigoPadula:
18:08:50 <spevack> We certainly have some money for release events, as always.
18:08:55 <spevack> Let's quickly review the budget situation.
18:09:00 <RodrigoPadula> I'm organizing the Fedora Linux Day in latam
18:09:20 <RodrigoPadula> so, I get US$10K with my manager to use in latam in Q3 anda Q4
18:09:25 <spevack> In North America, things are pretty stable. We're getting some swag made up, but there are no major expenses that I know about right now. I think we're basically saving our NA money for F12.
18:09:57 <spevack> In LATAM, Rodrigo has $10k USD to spend between now and the end of February from Red Hat LATAM directly
18:10:10 <spevack> RodrigoPadula: do you think that will be enough for you, or will you need more budget also from FAMSCO?
18:10:35 <RodrigoPadula> I think we will need more budget
18:10:42 <spevack> In EMEA, we're in the process of getting some more funds into the hands of the non-profit there, and I'll be paying for some things directly with my credit card.
18:10:51 <spevack> India and APAC have been pretty quiet from the budget perspective.
18:10:55 <RodrigoPadula> because I'm thinking to organize he III Latam Conference during Latinoware
18:10:59 <RodrigoPadula> eof
18:10:59 <spevack> So we definitely have money, fugolini
18:11:20 <fugolini> For release events too?
18:11:41 <fugolini> Can I assure there would be a coverage for the events, naturally following the Events Budget policy
18:11:42 <fugolini> ?
18:12:17 <fugolini> RodrigoPadula: it's great to learn that you have found another resource root that could help boost fedora in latam
18:13:17 <spevack> fugolini: yes, definitely you have my assurance
18:13:49 <fugolini> great, I'll add this info in a near future mail about the REs status (another task achieved before the deadline :))
18:14:40 <fugolini> spevack: for EMEA, will Fedora EMEA E.v. the mean to distribute resource? If yes, will your departure from EMEA change the way to distribute money?
18:15:08 <kital> !
18:15:11 <fugolini> Can, a new system, improve money distribution?
18:15:13 <fugolini> kital:
18:15:24 <kital> finally we have a emea swag tracking instance set up
18:15:42 <kital> i work on customizing the tickets right now
18:15:52 <kital> and will anounnce it tomorrow
18:16:11 <kital> https://fedorahosted.org/emea-swag-tracking/wiki
18:16:14 <kital> eof
18:16:25 <spevack> fugolini: yes, fedora EMEA e.V. will continue to be the same, and the place I am living in the world changes nothing :)
18:16:42 <fugolini> great.
18:16:58 <spevack> kital: have we publicized that URL yet?
18:17:08 <fugolini> kital: so, if I've opened a ticket in fedorahosted.org/famsco I should re-open it in the new trac?
18:17:36 <kital> spevack: https://fedorahosted.org/emea-swag-tracking/wiki is not official announced
18:18:09 <kital> famsco tickets are for reembursements or producing requests
18:18:26 <kital> emea-swag-tracking is for thing that already exist
18:18:45 <kital> like the famna instance
18:19:21 <kital> is this a answer to your question fugolini
18:19:21 <ke4qqq> !
18:19:22 <kital> ?
18:19:27 <kital> eof
18:19:37 <fugolini> ke4qqq:
18:19:46 <fugolini> kital: ah, ok.
18:19:59 <ke4qqq> fugolini: I think the distinction is cash - though that line is muddled with fedora emea e.V.
18:20:21 <ke4qqq> famna (and I suppose emea-swag-tracking) wouldn't handle money, just physical resources like media
18:20:32 <kital> +1
18:21:25 <ke4qqq> eof
18:21:27 <fugolini> thank you for both answer, now I understand the difference and the emea-tracking distinction
18:21:35 <fugolini> Anything from Budget?
18:22:03 <fugolini> please 1 min, telephone
18:22:10 <RodrigoPadula> !
18:22:45 <kital> RodrigoPadula ;)
18:23:03 <RodrigoPadula> spevack, is possible to send Dennis/Toshio or some other from USA to help us in the Latam Conference during Latinoware ?
18:25:09 <fugolini> back
18:25:32 * fugolini apologizes but forgot to turn off the phone before the beginning of the meeting
18:26:09 <fugolini> maybe he will answer during the meeting
18:26:28 <fugolini> #topic 2) Release Events
18:26:39 <spevack> RodrigoPadula: If you want to use some of your $10k to bring people from the USA, we can certainly do that.
18:27:13 <RodrigoPadula> ok
18:27:26 <RodrigoPadula> eof
18:27:43 <fugolini> I just talked about you about the REs budget. Now I want to give you some updates:
18:28:07 <fugolini> Neville opened a marketing track asking for a F12 RE flyer template
18:28:16 <fugolini> *ticket
18:28:58 <fugolini> I openend a ticket in the Design TRAC a ticket to improve the fedoraproject.org/wiki/F12_release_events page
18:29:40 <fugolini> Having a official Release Event log or something similar and organize content in the page in the best way. The most important thing is know how to add events (by country, by date etc)
18:30:21 <fugolini> You can follow Release Events roadmap in Fedora Ambassadors List. We will organize bi-weekly meeting
18:30:38 <fugolini> the next onw, maybe will be at the beginning of october.
18:30:44 <fugolini> that's all. Question?
18:30:58 <fugolini> Ah, I was forgetting Fedora Talking Point
18:30:58 <MrTom> not on my side
18:31:50 <fugolini> Marketing has worked on talking points and now started a discussion (the thread was opened by mchua). Feel free to join the discussion and give your suggestions.
18:32:36 <fugolini> Release Events are important because they are a global events: this is the only experience organized worldwide that follow the Fedora Release cycle
18:32:50 <fugolini> and it's becoming part of Fedora life.
18:33:15 <fugolini> We should be proud to have many people that volunteer to organize Release Events (aka Event owners)
18:33:21 <fugolini> eof
18:33:24 <fugolini> Questions?
18:33:58 <fugolini> #topic 3) Membership
18:34:27 <fugolini> kital: are there updates from this side. After I'll give a communication.
18:36:53 <fugolini> My communication: when acting a cleanup or whatever connected with this action, please wait for a agreement (maybe with a vote) from FAmSCo.
18:37:04 <fugolini> Just to be sure that FAmSCo should protect the decision.
18:37:12 <kital> fugolini: nothing new
18:37:22 <fugolini> After we do something, FAmSCo is responsible of the action done.
18:37:29 <fugolini> kital: great.
18:37:56 <fugolini> Questions?
18:38:20 <fugolini> #topic 4) Regions
18:38:37 <fugolini> First of all it's great that LATAM found a new source for its budget.
18:38:59 <fugolini> BTW, I want to know from you: what is happening in regions?
18:39:02 <fugolini> Is everything ok?
18:39:08 <fugolini> What FAmSCo can do?
18:40:19 <kital> FAD EMEA will happen next week - EMEA is an healthy state
18:40:49 <fugolini> kital: I will write an email because I will not able to attend (I've a course)
18:41:24 <kital> good
18:41:31 <fugolini> i will suggest some proposal and sure I'll stay tuned on what will be decided
18:41:38 <kital> sure
18:41:53 <fugolini> I hope I could meet EMEA guys in another circumstance
18:42:25 <spevack> wel will have lots of communication next week about EMEA stuff, as kital says
18:42:36 <fugolini> that's great
18:43:00 <fugolini> #topic 5) t.b.d.
18:43:08 <fugolini> Anything to say today?
18:44:07 <fugolini> so, we can adjourn the meeting
18:44:13 <fugolini> #endmeeting
